Thank you for uploading this. I think this series is going to be so helpful. It’s nice to hear from another humanities student. I think studying can get a bit lonely sometimes so it’s nice to know I am not alone!! X

So excited for this podcast! I relate to so much of this - only person in my family to go to college and grad school, balancing full-time work to support myself alongside full-time university work, stopping for mental health issues, trying to explain humanities (my focus was feminism and the role of textules as voice for women in medieval literature) to my family and friends 😂 - so I eagerly look forward to following along and cheering you on for your journey!

Thank you for opening up about this. Myself and I'm sure many others are relating to you, I have ADHD and probably many other things I don't wish to list. I didn't decide to do a PhD for personal reasons, but for those up to the challenge, these kinds of podcasts are a big support!

I am glad I found this and your other channel. I can definitely relate. I was diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder and depression plus I strongly believe I have adhd as well. I’m from Europe but live in the states by myself without family support and working/going to school here/navigating everything by myself. I know no journey is easy or perfect but it gives me a bit of encouragement to see someone else going far despite any challenges. Thank you for putting yourself out there!

Because you’ve been able to come so far in your academic career in that you are now a Ph. D, student only speaks to your determination and ability to overcome all your challenges. You’re like the Indiana Jones of academia what with the all challenges in your way that you have had to and continue to have on your way to your Ph. D. You are an inspiration Cinzia! No human being is perfect or they would not be human. 💐❤️

Hello. I'm a french student in humanities too. And I study despite a very grave chronic mental illness. I can totally relate, despite the fact that we don't have exactly the same level of difficulties (I won't be able to do a Ph.D. ever in my life). Mental health should not be a taboo, mental health has been a reality of our societies since the beginning of humanity. And we definitively need to ensure that we consider the problems with lucidity.

Thank you for sharing and making yourself vulnerable. I think academia is missing this mode of discourse. You're doing good. My best wishes to you, Cinzia!

Hi Cinzia! Thank you so much for starting this podcast. I also struggle with ADHD and dyslexia. I am currently working on my bachelor's in history, but I plan on furthering my academic career with a Ph.D. There are times where I feel I wouldn't be able to do so but knowing this about you has made me feel it's possible for me too. If you have any tips or tricks, I'd love to hear about them in a video! Thank you for your time!

I'm so excited for this podcast! I'm almost at the end of my Bachelors degree in the US in psychology and I have absolutely zero intention of getting a PhD, although maybe a Masters someday??? but I love hearing your thoughts and perspectives on academia, mental health, etc. I also have a "rainbow" of mental illnesses and I also have ADHD, which I did not know about until last year (I'm 22). Can't wait for the next episode!!

I wish this podcast had been around when I was working on my PhD in 19 C British Lit 20+ years ago. Can you please perfect time travel, so my past self can benefit? I developed contact allergies during my graduate studies, and they went away as soon as I graduated. Was also in therapy and on medication for depression.
