One of Gawain's biggest regrets in life was that he didn't trust Artoria's judgment regarding Lancelot. Then in the Camelot singularity he over-corrected and stayed loyal to Lartoria, which led to him committing many atrocities in her name. It's no wonder the guy seemed so depressed in the events of that story. Seeing that made me all the more on board later when Barghest, Gawain's biggest fangirl, thought about turning against Morgan. It wasn't 100% the same situation, but I wanted her to follow the same path of an honorable knight that he would have, given the baggage-free chance.

I remember before lb6 coming out a lot of people were talking about how much they wanted to see morgan and vortigern, and while we did get something close and they were really good, its just, not the same. And garden of avalon mostly covered things that were more related to artoria and her arc in stay night , while there are still so many cool arthurian related events that were mentioned (like, for example green knight) but stayed as only that and some characters dont even have a design ( where are my boys gaheris and palamedes nasu?!).

According to Fergus's Bio Galatine was based on Caladbold Which is a reference to the theory of Excailebar being based on Caladbold in IRL So Basically Excalibur Galatine is the Excailebar from IRL since the one in fate is over 14000 yrs old (Btw Arthur's Excailebar in legend could spit flames so Gawain's NP is a reference to that too)

In Zero Lancelot voiced his issues with Artorias leadership and decision making which led to the downfall of Britain I’ve always been curious on how the other round table knights felt about her style of kingship. Does Gawain, Mordred, Tristian, Bedivere and others opinions. I know Merlin had already been kidnapped by the lady of the lake and sealed in Avalon because she can’t take no for an answer and taking on the of Clingy Girlfriend. Merlin probably didn’t find out till he was summoned as a servant in the Demonic Front Babylon singularity anime

Well Mordred has this weird love hate relationship with Artoria so she defenetly approves of her ruling style and wont eccept any criticism unless it is towards Artorias lack of parenting. Tristan flat out left because he relized Artoria has hardend her heart so much she dosnt understand human emotions anymore so he clearly dissaproves. And Bedivere....well I guess he idelizes Artoria too much as a person to properly render cirticisms.

An interesting reaction involving gawain in fate extra at the final week there is a part he told Nero to shut up and called her the whore of Babylon after she told leo he could never be a true king for not realizing his flaws and look who we got 12 years later. Lastly there was a part hakuno had to turn off the sun in the arena with help from rani/rin to damage gawain a day before the elimination battle so the fight would be possible to win. For Leo family controlling 60% of the world someone else can explain that.

I want FGO to add Stonewall Jackson so he could have a line for Gaiwan and Asterios to make a Anchorman 2 refference. In Anchorman 2 when all the news teams are about to fight each other, the history channel is one of them. The History Channel team was lead by Liam Neeson and it specifically had the ghost of Stonewall Jackson and the Minotaur on their team. What Gaiwan has to do with this is that one of first roles Liam Neeson ever played was Sir Gaiwan in John Boorman's Excalibur.

If I remember right, in Fate/Extra CCC Sakura kind of tells Gawin off by telling him that his cooking method, just heating something then serving it I think, could not be called cooking. Also you can only fight Gawin in CCC by borrowing money from Leo and never paying it back.

Funny the horse is mentioned, I didn't even knew he was on his bond CE. A Rider version of Gawain would be wild. That horse is said to be an unstoppable beast of a mount, and when it got killed, Gawain got so angry he went on a rampage too.

Excellent video! What is your take on Gawain potentially being an adaptation of Cu Chulainn? Apparently Cu had a story that's similar to the beheading game well before The Green Knight story was written. TH White references this in The Once and Future King. He has a character muse that "Gawaine" would be spelled or pronounced as "Chuchullain" in the north.

My guess is that it's just a trope that was used for Gawain and the Green Knight instead of Gawain being a straight up adaptation. But it's still a cool idea. They have a couple interesting parallels. Both being chivalrous yet hard headed knights that are connected to the sun in some way

I do think his love fore Potatos is a recent thing and who can blame him? There neat. You can genuenly do A LOT with Potatoes so I can kinda see why Gawain gained a great appreciation fore them but is such a terrible cook he cant realy do anything worthwhile with them. As fore Gawain dressing his Aunt in a bunny outfit......to be honest I dont think Gawain ever even considerd Artoria as such and she DOES look physicley to be around his age so he probably just censores that little bit out of his brain. Altaugh I would love an event where they are forced to act like a famaly. Why do you refuse to use canon KotRT designs from the Camelot movie? There's a scene where they stand in front of the Lion King and a full list of the people she summoned. The only 2 currently unconfirmed guys are Palamedes and Gaheris but even then it's likely that the hooded knight with a short curved sword is Palamedes and the BIG knight with a two handed weapon is Gaheris.

It does not deserve such a high rating because it fails twice and has oaths involving his uncle King Arthur, and even though they are said, these are forgotten, while with other characters it would be a bad thing here because of the rule that a character that the creator of Fate likes is forgotten.

@@CrazyYurie he failed to keep three oaths! the first when he decided to avenge his father, when Arthur himself before the throne and the round table made him and his brothers swear not to seek revenge, as he was in a battle, but they respected the oath, well the answer you gave it no, this causes another knight to go away, namely Tristan, but why? the reason is simple to avenge their father they did not hesitate to kill him in his sleep when he was unarmed! the second is the one that prevents him from being immediately accepted as a knight in the round table, that is, he killed innocent people, a fact that our dear knight has done several times, the third but perhaps the most serious is when there was the hunt for the grail after he killed his brother who made him recover from the madness that had taken him, because the knights of Camelot went mad in the search for the grail except Beliver, the son of Lancelot Galan, Ser Percival and surprised Lancelot himself, understanding that he could not have the relic as he was impure, he fled to Camelot, and when Beliver returned with the news of the search for the grail it was clear that Gawan had lied.

2 different people yeah, Arthur had 3 sisters, Morgan, Morgause, and Elaine, Morgan being the youngest (according to the book I read), it's super confusing because there are multiple versions of the story, Yurie here said Gawain and Gareth are Morgause's kids, but some other stories I read say they are Morgan's, same with Mordred, Fate says she's Morgan's kid, but the book I read had her as Morgause's

there is one thing that Fate artists do quite a lot, and that I don't really understand. Why the staples in the armor? If you look closely, Artoria, Roland and other knights, among them Gawain, have their armor held together by what seem like big iron staples. I know that Fate isn't going for historical accuracy but... they look kind of ugly

Basically Gawain didn't want to do all those things, but because of his overriding need to be a loyal knight? He ended up doing them. Gawain resents Bedivere coming to the Camelot singularity when he did - because had Bedivere come sooner? Maybe it would have led to those atrocities not happening by making the King rediscover her heart.
