"For being branded the smartest man on the world, at times I feel a little stupid". - Adrian Veidt

It mainly shows in how he considers eveyone around him to be his intellectual inferior, and to show how he doesn't value people necessarily as much as he purports. Of course, it is worsened by the fact that he more or less is correct.

Nirawit Karnjanasomwong Veidt won and altered history just like Dr Manhattan did with Vietnam but Veidt did it in a Thanos like fashion so therefore he’s a “villain”. Yet Manhattan and Dreiberg were stunned to realize what Adrian had done. Sure, Manhattan was a God, but that God was outsmarted by a man. Watchmen is the best!

To be fair, you need to have a very high IQ to understand Ozymandias' character
@Zoki44443 жыл бұрын
Watchmen intentionally blurs the lines of morality in the superhero world. Ozymandias is my favourite character because he is cultured, understanding, empathetic and passive, but deadly nonetheless. He wasn't, as he said, a comic book villain, doing something evil because of selfish reasons (okay, maybe a bit selfish, to boast to Alexander). He put the weight of all those deaths on his shoulders so the world could be united in peace. Was it wrong to kill millions to save billions? That is the question that Watchmen leaves up to the reader. In my opinion, I think Ozymandias did what had to be done to prevent something worse from happening.

Jeremy Irons was great, although maybe a little too expressive and theatrical. Veidt in the comics was a little more reserved and stoic.

As we age so do our tastes and those tastes have more of a effect on us, on who we are or think we are then we like to admit, regardless if we want it or not. When we first see Mr. Irons I like you felt that Mr. Irons was really adding fuel to Ozymandes personality and before the big reveal "Spoiler Warning: The Game Warden vs Ozymandes" I wasn't a 100% sure that he was playing our Ozymandes and maybe this was a trick of the writer and director but lucky for us it was Mr. Irons giving us a 80 year Old Ozymandes and I really think the Writers, Directors and Mr.Irons hit a home run and came up close or spot on what Adrian would really be like at age 80 in this particular ⌚ 👨 Universe.

How can you compare drawings on paper to an actor on a tv? The artist can only convey so much emotion, an actor is what they are. Irons was awesome , GOOD DAY TO YOU!

I realize this comment was made a year ago but I've only just started watching the HBO series. I agree with your assessment of the character. I like to look at it this way, Being imprisoned for so long, alone, I think he would have grown even more narssictic and possibly more theatrical in his sociopathy. I think it's an interesting take on how his mind would, could have evolved.

It could be argued that Ozymandias didn’t really save the world. If we look at our own dimension, we survived the Cold War. So maybe those deaths weren’t necessary, especially since Dr. Manhattan was gone.
@raulcasarez21504 жыл бұрын
Me too because at the end when Veidt asks Dr. Manhattan “if it was worth it in the end” and Manhattan replies “nothing ever ends Adrian “ and Adrian looks at the globe and that’s the last we see him and honestly I feel like that implies that even if Adrian didn’t do anything nothing would’ve happened the world would’ve been like ours.

"The resin reservoirs of the trichomes, sometimes erroneously called pollen (vendors often use the euphemism "pollen catchers" to describe screened kief-grinders in order to skirt paraphernalia-selling laws), are separated from the plant through various methods."

Alexander wasn’t as great as everyone thought he was. He was ambitious and smart enough to utilize the army and organization his father created. So, in a way he was great but in so many others he wasn’t. I argue that many other people deserve that title more.

For me the biggest failure of the watchmen and what makes me not interested is the fact that everyone claims none of them except Manhattan doesn't have and superpowers. When everything they do requires massive amounts of suspension of disbelief. Adrian is just a guy and yet he can catch a bullet with his bare hands. They can punch through concrete with their bare hands and not break the skin. Bullshit! Just bullshit! That's lile saying the agents from the matrix are just normal cops. What made it good was the humanization of superheroes. They can't leap the higest building or take a bullet to the eyeball. But that's what makes it exciting. Although there strong as fuck and kick ass they're always vulnerable. That's why superman is boring as fuck unless he goes toe to toe with a god
@charlespuruncajas96632 жыл бұрын
The comic itself shows Ozymandias as the “peak of human capacity” and The Comedian is said to be “buff as a bodybuilder in his 60’s”. Also neither Rorschach or Silk Spectre and Nite Owl are superhuman but damn in the context they are supposed to be trained with different fight styles (so Dan breaking a gangster’s arm whit his punch is not so far fetched)
