I kept getting the insufficient egr flow code on my car and after driving myself to the brink of insanity trying to figure out what was going on, I found out that the (green) vacuum line to the egr itself was clogged up. So although the valve itself was in good shape and holding vacuum when it was applied with a vacuum pump, it wasn't able to operate properly due to the clogged up vacuum line which is why the code kept coming back. After I unclogged the vacuum line, the code never came back. Thank you for such an informative and helpful video! 😎

Hey question, if a car has plastic intake manifold then you can pretty much guarantee it doesn’t have an EGR valve other than a valve overlap right?

R&W: My Mustang 2000 GT when the weather starts to get warm (60's) runs bad, @70's runs like crap and it sounds like is in limp mode (it doesn't pass of 2,000 rpm's) it feels like is second gear. BUT in winter or cold days the car runs good but the automatic transmission (new) is not sync with the throttle. I already replaced a MAF, IAC, O2's, TPS, cleaned the plenum and cold air intake butterfly, etc. New coils and spark plugs as well. The only thing I haven't check is the EGR and it's sensors. Can this EGR valve or sensor can make the car run like in some sort limp mode without a CEL or codes? I passed emissions test with 0 problems last week. Last week I delete the catalytic with new O2's and the car runs and sounds like a 4 cylinder engine with straight pipes. What can I look for? EGR or something else. Hot weather takes his power to a point it feels like 70hp car

Hey I have audi a5 2010 I'm getting a boost leak (I think ) cleaned egr & throttle body . Did a smoke test just before the egr & throttle body and the smoke was coming from a small purpose hole on the egr . I had it to pieces but nothing is faulty .and then I unplugged the egr and drove it (no check light came on ) 🤔🤔 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

Re: 1996 5L f150. My EGR diaphram holds vacuum pressure well but applying vacuum does not move the pintel valve. The valve does move easily when light push applied with screwdriver or punch. Little or no carbon anywhere. Bad egr valve unit???

I just realized my stalling problem was the EGR solenoid. I didn't even realize it was there cause its hidden under the canister. But flows air through even when disconnected.

On petrol engine I don't see a good side to blanking them but on a diesel I'd have it no over way all my diesel cars I've blanked and so far touch wood nothing but better fuel economy and torque. Very easy to do order a blanking plate undu the egr bolts not fully slide plate in. Or you could remove gasket draw round it and make one out of a can. Very simple my old vauxhall combo was blanked for years no problems my Peugeot partner 1.6 hdi with turbo been blanked 5/6 months now and runs much better. If you have an electronic egr it must work for the ecu to compensate. If it's vacuum no difference
