Somehow I still find the Reinhardt to be one of the funniest FEH memes to this day and I still want Reinhardt to win a CYL as the honorary lord of FEH. Actually that gives me an idea of who to vote for. All my favorites with a shot at winning have already won anyway and I didn't really know who to vote for.

I still use Reinhardt in emergencies today. He is still strong when it counts. Most of the time I don't need him, but when I need a blue brave tome specifically, I go to him.

In Japan, Reinhardt has always been considered a boss for Fire Emblem players similar to what Whitney was to young Pokémon players: unlike what you might expect, most Japanese people that had played FE4 and FE5 on release on the Super Famicom were children and many didn't have any idea on how to "beat" Reinhardt, so he became a feared boss with a strong legacy. If you want proof of that, you can watch the FEH zadankai, where they interview Reinhardt JP VA, Tone Kentaro. They showed him the solution to chapter 22, by warping Olwen in front of him to talk him out of the map, and he never knew that could even be possible since he played Thracia when he was but a middle schooler. Whether you agree that middle schoolers should play war and genocide simulator 776 is anothet matter. What's really strange to me is how the Japanese fanbase already kinda knew who Reinhardt was, thanks to his infamy. The Reinhardt meme was here all along, FEH just added fuel to his flame.

I always found it funny how everyone was scared of facing The Rreinhardt, while my Cecilia were always taking 0x2 from him, and only taking minimal damage with the Moonbow proccs when facing the Quickened Pulse variations. It was like I was playing a different game from everyone else.

Also important to note is that he's not just a character who WAS meta relevant, he still IS meta relevant, even with saves. He's only ever been arguably power crept by ninja corrin, but considering her lack of mixed bulk, the barely better PRF, and the color difference, she's not always better. He still does his job of nuking anyone with no/little DR, even sometimes getting kills on save units, and being able to survive a good hit or two, and I think that really speaks to how powerful he was, and still is is. (sadly it means a refine is going to be never)

Even to this day, I still use Reinhardt in Aether Raids, as he can basically ORKO anyone when he gets those extra buffs from Askr. It feels really good reliving the glory days while res-saviors and F!Edelgard still exist (only for those units to be slain by the rein).

Actually Female Robin and Adult Tiki had bigger vote jumps. Female Robin jumped from 5,481 votes in CYL 2 to 34,626 in CYL 3. A difference of 29,145 votes. Adult Tiki went from 3,551 votes in CYL 5 to 39,705 votes in CYL 6. A difference of 36,354 votes. Now in fairness neither ladies voting rank change wasn't as drastic. Also technically Gatekeeper went from being ineligible in CYL 4 though other TH characters were available, to getting over 76,000 votes.

You couldn't inherit skills on release so Reinhardt was likely demoted simply because he was a dude. His Dire Thunder wasn't too impressive when he came out and Olwen actually had great support as a Reposition bot on a horse (no skill inheritance made it huge for big brain plays) and could actually quad things with speed buffs. Also horse teams early on were huge. Xander was also an early release so Xander with Hone Cavalry, Reinhardt with Guard Cavalry and Cecilia with Gronnblade was a pretty potent and well rounded core that was pretty cheap to build. And THEN they got Blyn

Its hilarious to think about how besides the Legendary Heroes (and like only some of them), and a few of the Brave Heroes; people didn't really to worry about what was new the game until like 2019 when DR became a more common thing, because Reinhardt just killed everything that wasn't tailored made to survive Reunhardt and beat him (Blue/Green Res Tanks with defensive skills like Micaiah and Cecilia) or were early cheaters that just weren't good enough to actually fight Reinhardt (like Sigurd).

I can see it now, Brave Reinhardt... A Sword Cavalry with a special Meisterschwert, grants DC and Dual Phase Brave effect, +5 to ATK/DEF/RES and if foes Range = 2, calculates DMG based on foe's Res with his unique B skill, granting Vantage 4 and Special Spiral 4 effect

I guess Bravehardt would be something similar to Saias since he is one of the three characters that Reinhardt values the most, but they can always be lame and choose the sibling route. Maybe he could be an infantry with Canto movement and a dual phase Brave weapon, or just another mounted Reinhardt.

Ah, how times of changed. When I was killing Kein for his great fodder, when Reinhardt was impossible for my units to tank, and Cav teams were a nightmare to see. My favorite time was when everyone ran Surtr, and I killed him with my bridal Tharja will everyone complained about that fucker.

I think i countered him by getting him in range and then initiate with my Reinhardt 😅. Later i used Myrrh with DC. I used Zephiel against the Hectors, and thanks to wary fighter and his massive health pool Zephiel was very difficult to oneshot, and i used a healer with the healing based on how damaged te target was. Armor slayers where not very good back then

Admittedly, for this I feel bad for Olwen. She was the worse unit of the 2, even factoring out the fact that she didn't get demoted, and how did IS fix this? By removing her brave ability entirely. Reinhardt has every version of himself as at least a player phase brave unit, with his RNG 1 version being dual phase, whereas Olwen only got a Blade tome with no Cooldown penalty. It gets worse with the refines: Reinhardt got a 2 way Atk buff/debuff with an impact bonus, whereas Olwen got a more restrictive Rein skill (I think that's the closest). Hopefully, when Thracia gets more attention, we will get more options for both of these characters.
