On today's Q&A we begin with looking at Isaiah 53:5 - what does "by His stripes we were healed" mean? Does it refer to spiritual healing or physical healing?
This week's questions and stream timestamps:
0:00 Stream starts, introduction
1:17 Lead question from TWR360 listener: does "by His stripes we were healed" refer to spiritual healing or physical healing?
20:10 Can you explain the application for Christians of the parable told by Jesus about the shrewd manager? What was Jesus teaching us. and how do we put it into practice?
23:50 How would you explain what is meant by the term praying in the Spirit?
27:20 Did Jesus descend to Hell after He died?
31:20 Are we breaking the 2nd commandment when we are looking at Jesus through pictures, movies such as the Chosen, the Passion etc.?
34:34 How do you think churches can incorporate the instructions Paul gave to the churches? (E.g. 1 Corinthians 11)
38:30 Who will hear God say ”Depart from me” on judgement day?
40:22 What is the connection between conscience and Holy Spirit? How are we to differentiate the voice of Spirit with the 'voice' of our own conscience? Are we transforming or connecting our conscience with Holy Spirit now (as believers)?
43:24 LIGHTNING ROUND
43:40 What is your view on prophetic healers? (Seeing people get touched and automatically being healed)
44:20 Does God Know our individual needs and struggles?
45:15 How would you answer to a person who says all Pastors in the 60s had to be Masons (Freemasons)?
45:45 Is Mary "the New Eve" and the "Ark of the New Covenant"?
47:05 Is it biblical to make promises to God? What is the purpose? Is a prayer more efficient if we do so?
49:14 What does it mean to say Jesus was generated in eternity, but not created? (creedal formation)
51:35 Is faith without works dead?
52:18 Do you have any thoughts on the “SatanCon” in Boston? is it just showing how far this country is falling away from the truth?
53:35 Do you consider Calvinism a heresy? In the sense of God determining the un-elect to be predestined to hell, as in, God intentionally sending those people to hell - is this a heresy?

Jesus paid a debt he didn't owe; I owed a debt I could not pay! The manifestation of healing takes on many forms; sometimes in our bodies; others times in our minds and hearts.

Thanks for this insight Patricia White, truly indeed, we experience healing even psychologically, financially, maritally etc without us knowing the extent that our LORD JEHOVAH ROPHECA has touched to make us whole. Even restoring battered confidence is healing.

Though I would not dispute what you say about "By his stripes we are healed," I would not limit God to spiritual healing only. After the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus, the Law is spiritual, not literal. This is the main reason the Temple was destroyed in 70 AD. After saying this, I know that Jesus continues to heal us physically TODAY. Jesus never stopped healing us physically and spiritually. He has the power to do both for us.

Jesus healed people physically before He died. His stripes came later so this scripture specifically refers to spiritual healing. He can do both spiritual and physical.

I understand Jesus took our infirmaties and sins upon himself on the cross for our salvation. The Spirit is in us as a deposit, a hold of the promises that come by our salvation. Among those promises are complete healing from All sin and All sicknesses when we receive our glorified bodies. God can do anything. He does heal physical sickness today as in Jesus day, for the purpose of bringing glory to him and to draw unbelievers to faith. No one is completely free from sickness today as of yet because we are still in the sin nature, our flawed bodies. When Jesus comes for us we will be changed to glorified bodies, incorruptible and immortal. Indeed nothing is too hard for God to do. Jeremiah 32:27. But He is working in us now and will continue to do so until completion at the day of Christ appearing for his believers. Then the deposit of promises in us by the Holy Spirit, including complete healing, will be complete upon our redemption.

matt 8 6 When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick, 17 that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: " He Himself took our infirmities And bore our sicknesses." this is proof Is 53 also applies to PHYSICAL healing as well as spiritual healing, also look at 1 pet 2:24

If you believe that Isiah 53:5 refers only to spiritual healing, you are right. But if someone believes that it includes physical healing, they are also correct. It will be done to you according to your faith. The benefits of the cross includes forgiveness of sins, physical healings and being set free from poverty.

Very well dealt with Pastor on this important theological question. These words definitely relate to Sin and righteous, not sickness and physical healing. This biblical promise will come after the Second coming of the Lord. Though people are physically healed todsy through prayer by Faith, but it should not be directly tied to the above words. It means many believers including clergy are understanding and preaching the Word out of context, which s a serious matter.

Firstly! I would like to thank you for your Old Testament commentary I am finding it amazingly useful. Secondly I would like to comment on what you said partway through this I think at 15 minutes. I do not believe that Kenneth Copeland or Andrew Wommack or any of the other so-called Prosperity teachers believe that it's always God's will to heal super naturally. Rathervthe focus and emphasis is on relationship with the Holy Spirit who guides and tells us how to obtain that healing. For example somebody may have an iron deficiency and be praying to God for Supernatural healing because they feel weak Jesus may tell him to see a nutritionist. The focuses relationship and hearing what God wants you to do in every situation. God uses doctors. And I say this from listening to hundreds of hours of Andrew Wommack teachings Wommack teaching. I cannot speak as much for Kenneth Copeland.

I really don't want to judge Kenneth Copeland or those who are in certain health issues. I just want to draw the attention to the fact : it is written : confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working. → Elijah was a man with a nature_like_ours, and he prayed fervently... (and we know the fruits) It's so obviously neglected among protestants. {BTW if we understand our job as royal priesthood we automatically must confess our sins, because of our service}

“The totality of our salvation is not promised to every believer right now”? What does this mean? Also, how can the promises of God be for some and not all believers? How can the work of God be for some and not all believers? Perhaps I misunderstood and need clarification please. I believe the promise of healing is for all believers. However, I cannot at this time explain why some experience it and many (including me) do not.

The problem is that in our flesh, it can be difficult to recieve it all. Additionally some disabilities are things that lead that person and many more to God. Having a perfect body in this earth can be sometimes counterproductive with our proclivity to sin. Which is why we are promised this for sure of perfection when the Lord comes. And this gives us new bodies, not patching our current flesh. That’s what I think.

I'm fairly certain there is, though the reference to rising again is sort of obscure. The closest one I can think of on the spot is that "He will not allow His righteous one to see decay." I think that's in Psalms (?) It means that his physical body will not decay. The idea is; the body won't be deceased long enough for decay to set in. I'm sure you'll discover more if you start researching. It can be fun, as God will show you all kinds of cool stuff. He promises that if you seek, you will find. It's like mining for gold! It's His delight to reveal such secrets to those who are earnestly seeking.

This has been taken so much out of context. The verse does not say a woman should not teach the Bible, or teach the word! It just says "teach" period. The word translated "teach" or "instruct" (as in a woman 'teaching' a man) means to get the upper hand in an argument. We use it ALL the time now...look at the titles of videos. Example: Woke dude gets "taught" by Charlie Kirk. We KNOW that does not mean that Charlie Kirk shared the Gospel. Or this: "Leftist gets 'schooled' by Voddie Baucham'. It means a contest of words! Essentially it means that women should not run their husband down in public or butt into a conversation she knows nothing about. She can discuss it with him in private at home. There is also a cultural context. Some have said that in the NT, there were Christian converts from Judaism that still worshiped at the temple. The court of the women is separate from the men. Sometimes, if a woman couldn't hear, or had a question, she had to shout to him across the aisle. That interrupted the service and caused commotion. Finally, you can always tell when something is taken out of context when it comes with all kinds of extra rules and mental gymnastics. Example: When stating a woman should not teach a man...does that refer to males in general? What about male children? And at what age does a male child become a "man" when the mother, grandmother, or auntie must stop teaching him the Word? (SEE what I mean?) In my family, my Mom was the more "religious" one in the family. My dad, not so much. My Mom tried to get him to lead the family in Bible study one night a week, and my dad just wasn't up to it. So my mom kind of took over. She explained what the text meant. Many foreign missionaries are women who share the gospel with anyone who will listen, including men. I assure you, she has not violated any of God's principles.

Kenneth Copeland getting a pacemaker isn’t contradicting God’s Word!!! Medical procedures can be part of our healing!!! I had to have a procedure done on my heart that saved my life. God was with me!!! You sound like you believe any medical procedure contradicts faith and healing should come without medical intervention. You may be tested on this one day. You might need something done to save your life. I guess you’ve never been sick because you’re so spiritual.
