THIS flick does indeed have a weird eerrie creepy truly dreamlike quality that I admire and value, .. . and which could not be simply duplicated and would be lost in any fuckin remake. THAT's a problem with remakes and a reason I'm against them, even of so called "bad" films, .. . when you remake a movie just to correct it's imperfections - to iron out it's kinks so to speak - you also, in the process, LOSE it's COOL QUALITIES which can't be duplicated.

Not only that, they should have showed scenes of the parents are getting crazy and unexplainably attracted to the bed A cool thing would be, since it's a bed, it gives dreams and memories of their dead daughter, so they eventually get lost in their minds and once they are at the peak of their vulnerability, the bed eats them! this was a case of me looking for that other death bed movie, finding this one, and digesting both on the same day. this one is leaps and bounds better than the full moon adjacent more modern one. for me, why i love this movie isn't the so bad angle. it has an aesthetic and feel to it that could have only come from the 70's, and i respect that. on a film making level my favorite movies are the ones that cannot be imitated and are so purely a product of their times, they are a time capsule. speaking of the devil though, one of my bucket list dreams is to remake death bed as an anthology film series, sandwiching the original movie between shorts that reflect the styles and sensibilities of each generation of films preceding and succeeding the original.
