If that was me, I would mic the crank to see if it is not out of round, on 1 & 5 compare it to the others, if it seems good, pull the mains, check them, and if good pull and polish the crank, while your in there take a peek at a couple of cylinder walls, if everything looks good. Through some bearings at it, and fully send it.

I have no idea how to check it with a mic, nor do I have one 😅😢

You've definitely had your fair share of 4 valves 😂😂

Massive facts 😂

Unfortunately, once the bearing actually spins in the rod, the big end is no longer round and won't crush the new bearing properly. If you just slap bearings into a rod that spun, the engine is doomed.

Around here these motors are a dime a dozen I built my last one in my driveway I didn't realize how many little tiny baby pine cones was in it 😂 they clogged my dip tube completely after they all washed down anywho a plastic tensioner failed and it jumped time cylinder 1,s piston kissed a valve didn't go thru just scarred it a little bit I got a whole different motor just for that my B head motor shot the bottom radiator hose off in the rain by the time I realized my temp gauge wasn't moving omw to work the next day it was too late I got another one bc of that lol but with them everywhere from $200 to $400 it's just easier and cheaper for me to do that ! In your island predicament myself I would polish that one up and give it a shot worse case is throw the rod through the oil pan then your getting another motor anyway it might surprise you and be stronger then ever I've seen much weirder shit my friend, I'm about to run imrc,s off a nitrous window switch or I'm thinking I can make them run pretty good off vacuum either way I'll let you know how it goes hope all goes well for you 😊

Oh wow lol I appreciate your your comment, being on the island is definitely the difficulty factor but I'm going to get it right man trust me, I destroy so many 4.6 motors I've gata start learning how to fix em lol

@DriftDreams242 me too my friend I need too learn to build the bottom ends as well I wanna learn to build them bigger and badder to hold at 8k rpms and over like it's nothing these motors have potential same platform as the coyotes small differences really
@DriftDreams2426 ай бұрын
@@frankhoover9800 yeah I heard they built the coyote motor from the 4v 4.6
@frankhoover98006 ай бұрын
@DriftDreams242 I absolutely believe that there about the same motor except one is a 5.0 and one is a 4.6 but same platform some parts will even interchange

@@frankhoover9800 man I got a pretty special motor recently I can't wait to get that going, I never thought I'd be a Ford man but I love these little motors lol

Id just polish, then micrometer, then plasti gauge and find the closest bearing clearance.

Polish the crank put new bearings in it and drive it. Clean the engine out with diesel or kerosene then change the oil a couple of times pretty quick and you should be good to go. Today everyone that puts an engine together wants everything sent to the machine shop and get everything within spec. Sometimes spending as much money at the engine shop as the engine is worth. I am 56 years old. I have worked on Ford engines only all of my life. I was raised extremely poor and you fixed what you had or you didn’t have anything. You can make it work and serve you really well I believe. I have put engines a lot worse than that back together not because I wanted to because I didn’t have the money to do anything any different. Some of them ran good and for a long time some of them did not but that’s a chance you take with any engine even one freshly from the machine shop. Put it back together enjoy it for as long as it lasts because I feel like you’re going to beat on it pretty hard. Lol honestly I don’t see any problem with putting it back together as long as the rods will hold a bearing. That’s just my opinion, and everyone is allowed an opinion so no BS comments from the peanut gallery needed about putting it back together on my comment. You will have your opinion I have mine. Poor people do things a lot different than people with money. I don’t know you may have all the money in the world, but the people who make most of these comments have money to do other things I didn’t. Even today I don’t just throw stuff away first I try to fix it. The entire world has become accustomed to just throwing things away and getting new. I guess that’s why all parts are just disposable nonserviceable and cheap. I always found an engine that was a little loose ran better. Keep chasing your dreams I enjoy watching you. You’re not in $100,000 garage telling people what they need to do and what they don’t. Like I said that’s just my opinion you do what you think serves you the best. Thanks for the videos. P.S I don’t think you’re going to run the Indianapolis 500 with it are you???? Maybe that will help understand why I did it the way I did it and that’s the way poor hillbillies did it 45 years ago. Some of those hillbillies turned into the greatest engine builders that have ever lived just because they fixed what they had and improved on what they were given.

Might be best to get another one instead of gambling on a fix that may only get you another few hundred miles. You'll end up having to get another one either way
