The idea of always being better than yesterday sounds good on paper, personally ive adopted the ideas that 1. Strength is cyclical: your body naturally peaks in performance on certain days and dips on others regardless. 2. Progress is not linear: learning always hits a point of diminishing returns. Skill regression and relearning is not the end of the world.

There was a video he posted in which a Jiujitsu guy was grappling him and using the moves and David was so confused because none of the joint breaking or folding stuff effected him 😂 dude was Jiujitsu prove just because he was way too flexible!

Jax, so much has changed since i started my fitness journey from your amazing help and tips, my body has changed entirely, I went from an overweight weeb with nearly no friends, now I walk around with abs, (not all the time of course because thats not how the human body works, which i learnt from you) and my life has changed drasticly, I was so depressed before and now after meditating, working out, and slowly bettering myself in areas that I'm weak in, Along with following training regimens of yours when I get bored of just throwing weights around, it has helped me change as a person entirely, and if it wasnt for you, I wouldnt be where i am, So thank you for doing what you do! also, WATERHANMA!!!

6:14 that's what i've been doing for around 1 year all self taught, and i learned that as long as i get the technique and form down it's all about repetition. The more i do the movement the better i get at it and i've even been told by people who do muay thai that my form is really good even though i've never had a martial arts class once in my life. I learned the skills by studying them and testing them and then it's all just repitition

Cannot stress martial arts enough... My coach, best dude alive, helped me so much. I was apparently a natural .. I didn't know that (he proceeded to tell me that even so I still suck so that was a nice hit back to reality) but he showed me how to really sting the bag man, the discipline of a routine even stretching like Jax is suggesting. Get a coach (Jaxblade), join a jiu jitsu club or something, start boxing (my jam) get it done team!

That total body tensioning in the beginning was my version of kaioken when i was a kid😅. Later i found out there is chinese exercise version but for people who need to chill and relax before qigong practice called Wu Song or 5 relaxation method. After practicing for a while, it can help you understand muscle tension in different parts of body and you use mind muscle connection to contract then relax said muscle. I mean there is also a whole exercise system i think its called dynamic tensioning by charles atlas that helps build tendon strength and muscle but you need to learn to relax after it with breathing exercises.

WaterHanma That relaxation in the moment is probably the big reason why I train Chen-style Tai Chi on top of the other style. That breath control and emotional regulation comes in handy when sparring or rolling. In terms of horror villains, I don't really have a favorite, but there are a couple Tsui Hark films that offer a blend of martial arts and horror. The first is "We're Going to Eat You," which is a horror comedy about a detective investigating an island of cannibals. Very much Drunken Master meets Evil Dead. The second is Vampire Hunters, which is a more straightforward horror action film about a group of martial artists fighting Jiangshi.

Breathing is extremely important for getting in shape and I wonder if "Breathing Techniques" or just different ways to breath (besides just Breathing deeply) is actually a practical thing. Like for example taking a breath and holding it before landing the strike to exhale when you hit. Kinda like a Sniper. Or exhaling as you throw the punch/kick to get more from your core?
