Even though Jay and LA Reid said they would promote both together, Teirra got magazine covers next to Jay, her first clip went to Jayz's side using his chain and even her first album had Roc fella in the title. Rihanna was already second, and I think her musical style for the record company executives was not aggravated, since she was the Caribbean girl and as good as she was, R&B was always more successful and that was Teairra's style. But Rihanna has always been much more successful on the charts with the help of the public tho, even without the main support of the label. She worked hard for her achievements and her number one status and always had such a good voice. It's so nice that Beyoncé recognized her star. Put some respect on Rihanna's name.

Let’s be clear! The only reason Beyonce even remotely helped Rihanna is because she is signed to Roc Nation! Meaning her husband gets paid everytime Rih makes music. Any other female r&b singer during that times has basically been dismantled on purpose. Teaira was also signed to Roc-A-Fella, but since Jayz left and went to Def Jam, the majority of those musicians career ended. There was no reason for Beyonce to push Tee after the end of Roc-A-fella 🤷🏾‍♀️

But when their first single were released Pon de Replay became a hit World Wide (N0 2 in billboard hot 100 stopped from the number spot by Mariah Carey) with more than 5 million copies sold. And even if Rihanna first album sold only 500.000 copies in the USA it did a decent 1.500.000 copies World Wide which showed that she could sell more outside the USA. On the other side Tiearra M singles and her album flopped hard (less than 250.000 copies in the USA and nothing outside the USA for her album). So when Def Jam had to choose with who they will continue it's obvious that they had to choose Rihanna Because at the end of the day what matter in the music industry is numbers and Tiearra M was unable to sell her music even with all the support of Def Jam (Jay-Z and Kanye west are featured in her first single make her fell good! Give me the name of the Big act that was featured in the music of the Sun? Clearly no one). You are acting like Tiearra M Never had the opportunity to release a song or an album ! But that is not true she did and it was a flop. And if Def Jam considered dropping Rihanna at the end of 2005 (with 1.5 million copies sold) do you think they would have kept Tiearra M who sold nothing ?
