That’s a decisive statement, & it’s very naive to say that. I don’t know where you’re from or your experiences, but to paint a picture as if it’s the African Americans who lack the consciousness in comparison to any other group, who especially exploits them in there homeland is deceptive & divisive. I absolutely LOVE MY AFRICANS FROM THE CONTINENT WHO LOVE ME, but let’s not act like the Majority of Africans who come to America from the Motherland are all Consciously Intelligent or “awake” like you newbies like to say lol. A lot of them suffer from a similar European Colonization just like a lot of their African American Brothers & Sisters. But never forget that it was African Americans who created most waves of the cultural, spiritual & conscious revolutions for our Africans across the Diaspora to be inspired by. From Jazz & the Harlem Renaissance, the Blues, 80’s 90’s Hip Hop. Even Marcus Garvey who got chastised in his own Jamaica, came to the African Americans & got it poppin’ first. Moorish Sciences, the NOI with Malcolm X a Black American, the Black Panther Party, the Black Hebrew Israelites, the 5% nation, etc. Plus too many Powerful Minds to name like Khalid Abdul Muhammad, who was always putting himself in harms way for African & Spanish Immigrants who were victims of Police Brutality. I don’t know who exactly put this Negative Narrative about African Americans out there, but I do know why it’s done. I really think it’s time to broaden our Scopes & kill off these old Stereotypes & Labels, usually given to all of us by our Oppressors.. Peace

Love all our African brothers and sisters, but stop asking for significant investment if they are not going to give immediate citizenship or freehold land purchase. We may come for vacation but most will not make an investment for a significant amount if we can not build generational wealth, with only being able to buy leased land. I'll buy property right now and invest if I had a passport for an African country. That is why i am looking into Sierra Leone and South African permanent residency because they will allow you to buy freehold land now and give you dual citizenship after 5 years. The African leaders will have to decide to make a change to their Constitutions, our congressmen can beg them until they are blue in the face, but how are they going to change their minds? AA can't travel to all 54 countries, so we have to narrow down the ones that are willing to work with us now, as time is of the essence, we may only have until the November election to safely get out of the U.S.. So far the only countries that are serious about providing dual citizenship and freehold land are Sierra Leone and South Africa, so my group will visit and move forward with investing in those countries.

@iphil25 I would have to respectfully disagree. Dr. Anderson did his job by laying down a blueprint. His role is to be a strategist/general. He creates the plan for others to implement. I am not privy to his life, so I cannot honestly say what he has done. But I know he has written books to open the minds of the people. And that spark can lead to one shining like the Sun does!

A suggestion to propose to the politicians in African countries. Any black African/diaspora after the DNA Ancestry test and with the highest percentage of a given Tribe, could ask and should be given Automatic Citizenship. Others could stay for 2 or 3 years in the country of their Chioce to get it.

My brother you are being disingenuous. You know there's no way in hell any politician here in America will speak up for this and no African leader would listen to them. Why will you not tell your followers how you did it behind closed doors. I could have more respect for what you're saying then. We know everything is about greasing the right palms and going through the Chiefs. It's all about money. And you know this. Come on brother, I have respect for you. I don’t know about other African countries but my country Liberia🇱🇷 isn’t ready for dual citizenship yet. With the country economy being as bad as it is, dual citizenship will make it easier for foreigners to come in and buy a lot of lands from desperate and starving Liberians. Land is very important to us. Also not having dual citizenship prevent corrupt government officials from fleeing the country. Once our economy is in good shape, we can have the dual citizenship conversation.

I'm just curious. I thought The African Diaspora originated from Africa. If that's true us getting citizenship in Africa should be easy. The leaders can reach out to us if they really want this. There are a lot of us that wanna relocate to Africa. If Africa is the future we should see a two way street to get us citizenship. Remember we fought the American government and shed blood to get the African Diaspora the chance to become citizens here in America. Research Woodrow Wilson.

Afrika is not a country. It is 55 of them. Each has its own laws and processes. There is no one size gits all. If one is seeking citizenship then it will be through one of the current countries. If one is waiting for the Continent to be a country it is the same as planning not to come.

Greetings Star King, I'm in complete agreement with your insight and Pan-African stance especially regarding an AU passport. It is incredibly short sided of officials on the continent to demand that those of us in the Diaspora get involved with "politics" of countries we know nothing first hand about the culture, economics or politics. This is a total colonial mindset. Further the requirement to contribute financial "investments" is the very unhealthy stance of capitalism which created the Diaspora in the first place. We must do better as a global collective and the first point of a Black Agenda needs to be ALWAYS acknowledging that enslavement has created our division and Unity is our #1 priority. And I can understand why no one wants to go from the frying pan into the fire. The devil you know is easier to fight than the devil you don't know that looks like you... IMHO

Should All African Americans Get African Citizenship??? You Already Have. See Below Dear All, The issue with most Africans born outside Africa is that you do not know your tradition and what you are entitled to. I am from the Ewe Tribe in Eastern part of Ghana. It does not matter how many years or centuries I have been away from my tribe or people. Immediately I return home and claim that I am part of that tribe. The leaders will have to meet and decide on your claim that you should be accepted as one of them and restore my status as part of them. I am not an expert with African tribal issues, but I believe this is the same with all tribes. In Ghana I know it is. The Ashanti's, Fantes, Dagonba etc all will the same. ALL ANY AFRICAN DIASPORA HAS TO DO, IS APPROACH ANY AFRICAN TRIBE OF YOUR CHOOSING AND MAKE A REQUEST TO THEM THAT YOU ARE A LONG LONG LOST SON OR DAUGHTER AND YOU WANT TO RETURN HOME AND BE ACCEPTED BACK INTO THE FAMILY. YOU WILL BE SURPRISED THAT EACH ONE OF YOU WILL BE ACCEPTED BACK. Of cause is much easy if you have some link with that tribe, but even if you do not, as long as you are an African and you decide to be part of a tribe, you will be accepted. The statehood under which we operate is a creation of Europeans to benefit them, but also to divide the world for them to rule as they wanted then. When you are making a claim to an African state, they have to treat you as a citizen of another state. Then they are also at a loss and have to go by the rules that these state systems have put down. You do not have to work for anything or required to contribute before you get what you are already entitled to. Because your Great, Great, Great Grand Father or Mother was an African. If he or she was returning today, he or she will be welcomed home with all the customary traditions that are required. The difference is that it is you instead of your Grandparents that is returning. They (your Grandparents)will know what the traditional requirements are that they should automatically be accepted into the family, it does not matter if it is 1000 years ago, but you the modern-day African Diasporaians do not know this. Most people think the power in Africa is in the state, well when it comes to international affairs yes, however, power is actually with the traditional and tribal systems. Just think about it for a moment, the fact that someone takes you from your ancestral home and brings you to foreign lands, and then imposed a statehood over you so that he or she can rule over you, does not make you lose your ancestral rights. Only if you accept the statehood imposed over you and refuse to claim what is your ancestral right or you do not know what you are entitled to by ancestry. EVERY AFRICAN DIASPORAN, YOU GO TO ANY AFRICAN TRIBE OF YOU CHOICE AND MAKE YOU CLAIM, WHEN THEY ACCEPT, YOU HAVE GAINED BACK YOU AFRICAN CITIZENSHIP AND THEN YOU CAN GO AN DO THESE STATEHOOD PASSPORTS THAT EUROPEAN HAVE IMPOSED ON US ALSO IN AFRICA. It is the tribes and not the state that holds the key to having you back into the African family and you will be surprised how easy this is. If you want to interview me on this to elaborate, I am open. Africa to the World. Praise to him Woda Maya. and We Are Africans. Cheers.

Tchau

@@LuminousSolitude I speak Portuguese (at a conversational level, at least) because I spend 4-5 months at my condo in the Brazilian interior each year. Very little English spoken there. Also, Google translator is your friend in these situations. Especially if you are going to be traveling to other countries/cultures/languages. Or reading comment sections from non-Americans. What I wrote above was as follows .... (in response to why there is such sparse information for Afro-Brazilians). I spend time with many Afro-Brazilians in Brazil. And THEY are also feeling left out. __________________________________________ I am american. But I spend many months a year in Brazil (Goiânia) with friends. I speak a little bit of your language (I need to know this while I live in Brazil) ... but I will use a translator to answer you now. The information is slowly being shared there. There are videos on KZbin about Afro-Brazilians doing a DNA test to return to Africa. Together with Mozambique and Angola (Portuguese-speaking countries), search KZbin videos of immigrant communities that have existed in Nigeria for a long time. Some of these videos are also in Portuguese, as well as research in both languages. This may provide some direct contacts on the continent. In addition, Ghana has a Brazilian immigrant population. I wish people would be honest about leaving America and living in Africa. It's not as simple as some people profess. Talk to the poor brothers and sisters who tried to relocate and had to come back. Ok you can have dual citizenship and then what? Let's talk about economics for Blacks on both continents. I am sad because we don't unite here in America the country we know and I don't see how we are going to migrate (large groups) to Africa and survive; most of us are ignorant of the customs and languages and don't even communicate or work as a unit on this continent. What are we going to do to contribute to the growth of us all there? I really want to communicate with people who are willing to work out possible solutions.

If people want citizenship anyplace in the world , there is a process and system that has to take place. They have every right to vet you and see if you are really ready to transition into being a citizen of their country. This idea that because you are black , you just deserve citizenship upon arrival is silly and isn’t how the world works for anyone.

Please keep in mind Africans in the diaspora are not foreigners. Our ancestors were shackled and “forced” out Africa on slave ships and not given passports to exit. Since our forefathers & mothers were taken by force and did not go through a immigration process, we in the diaspora should not have go through the process to come back to Africa. I have been to 3 African countries over a period 15 years. I would like to stay in Africa, but the process of starting a business, buying land or a home has been a difficult process for me. I am still working on plans that will work...not sure which country yet; maternal or paternal descendant country. If some members in the African Union are sincere in assisting us in the diaspora in doing business and/or moving to an African country, there should be a pathway program set up with guidelines, contacts and governmental agencies for each country that is participating. Dual citizenship is the best solution for us in the diaspora but we can not be considered expatriates.
@bonnechance6988

Maybe you should advocate for the citizenship conditions to be "officially" changed so you don't "have to go through the difficult process". However, merely being a person of African ancestry, whatever the route, won't suffice as far as things go presently. If you are not officially a citizen of an African country, you are considered a foreigner, whatever your skin color.

And it takes time, so 5-10 years.. and you need to make aure you chose the right country also. What if you leave after 3 years to another country because you chose the wrong country or its just not working for you? This is why the vetting process is important.

Cathy Lake it doesn’t work that way Cathy. Arabs and Chinese here in the state don’t be having passport but owns majority of the businesses in black communities. You don’t need a passport to invest in any country. I’m a Ghana born and all my lands I had to lease is for 99 yrs. that’s a law and you have nothing to worry about it’s yours forever. Wanting to have citizenship before investing in Africa is a laughing stock, you can live in Africa for many years without passport not much of a difference.
