SO TRUE. Worked in retail for a bit over 4 years. I used to be an Assistant Manager at a grocery store. I always trained my new hires like this guy does. In my experience, you build a way better team this way. In my department, everyone actually told me they enjoyed having me as a boss. And you could tell by how they worked. Hated the job, but loved my co-workers.

Every business has a "Jeff" who thinks they run shit when really everyone just avoids them like the plague because their decisions don't matter anyway. Attention to every "Jeff" out there: You're just an annoying but ultimately inconsequential obstacle and everyone knows it. Get over yourself and stop making a shit job even shittier. Even Regional doesn't like you despite the fact they're the only ones you try to impress or help out. Just approve the time off ya dingus.

The part about regional/district managers is so true. Whenever they come around, management runs around like chickens with they heads cut off trying to impress them. No lies told, I used to work at Target for about 10yrs and when the district/regional managers came store management was in panic mode. I worked the backroom and they would expect us to answer whatever questions they asked, basically quizzing us to see if we gave the appropriate response. I just got in the habit of taking a break or a lunch when they got there to avoid the bs.

The making a bale one is SO TRUE lmao. Although we used 5 as our 'quick' way due to them splitting before the bale gets outside and we'd have to pick everything up and put it all back in the bailer and redo a bale

Being a cashier at walmart is easy. It is the customers that make it hard. Customers don't be an ass to the cashiers, they have the hardest job in the whole store. YOU try dealing with different personalities and temperaments coming at you every which way, and they just want to just smile. At walmart the customer is right even when they are wrong! Managers do NOT back up their cashiers!
