I imagine this match result had to be very satisfying to Bobby. When he (Bobby) won the US Championship 11-0 Larsen derided his performance saying Fischer's opponents "played like children" . Well....welcome to the kindergarten Bent.

Little did Larsen know that 50 years later children would become grandmasters 🫠🥴🙃

@@chicassoproductions8527 He knew it already, Fischer was already at grandmaster level at 13-14, so was Capablanca, Reshevsky, Spassky won a strong international tournament at 16 etc. Of course, there weren't as many kid grandmasters as there are today, but there were still some.
@joepoppy3264

@@andro99991 yes not only were there not many kid grandmasters there weren't that many Grand Masters. I think at the time they were only about 160 grandmasters in the whole world. That is when Fisher was a kid. I think there's about 2000 now . in my opinion when Bobby won the US championship at 14 he probably should have been awarded The grandmaster title then. But I guess they wanted him to prove a little more LOL

I always appreciate a breakdown of a good Fischer game from the Dawg 🫡

Fischer had a knack for always playing good enough throughout the entire game to secure a win or draw. Keeping that kind of edge move after move must have been demoralizing for his opponents.

Yo Dawg!! Great Fischer stuff as usual! In the early 70's Bobby was simply unstoppable and let's not forget he was so much above his best opponents in Elo rating that I think he actually lost rating points while winning the WC!! And given how rating "inflation" is a real thing, what would Bobby's real rating be now if he was 2785 in 1972 when he spanked Spassky at 2660? Bobby gets lots of GOAT votes and with good reason.

Morphy Tal Alekhine Kasparov had More beautiful games than Fischer! Fischer beat the weakest chess World champion Boris Spassky only 17 wins 10 losses! Capablanca would beat Spassky easily 8 wins 6 draws zero losses! Carlsen would beat Spassky easily 6 wins 6 draws zero losses! The highest tournament elo rating score is Fabiano Caruana 8,5/10 StLouis elo 3080! Karpov 11/13 Linares 1994 elo score 3040! Alekhine in San Remo 1930 elo score 3040! Fischer his best tournament score only 2990! Karpov has won over 160 super grand Master tournaments! Fischer won zero only inter zonals 1962 1970! Fischer was Second in Santa Monica 1966 behind blunder maker Spassky! Fischer did not won Havanna 1965!

@@RaineriHakkarainen Excellent research sir! But aside from your predictions about Capa and Magnus both clobbering Spassky handily which are your opinions (which I happen to agree with) your analysis simply shows how truly great some of these historic chess GMs truly were. But we are still in the same position as before: opinions and selective results that actually prove little in the bigger picture. When Bobby won, what was it, 20 games in a row in the run-up to the match with Boris, what was the performance Elo of that incredible streak that nobody has ever come even close to. And the 11-0 at the US Open championship is still waiting for somebody to match and collect the $64,000! So I appreciate your research and I respect your opinion but consider this: How about using an independent arbiter, a truly impartial referee, to help identify the true GOAT: Make the list of the 10 (or 12) greatest chess players of all time (the exact order of the list will vary depending upon who wrote the list, but for sure the very best top players will be on that list!), select a decent sample of games (40 or 50?) from their prime and let Stockfish or Alpha Zero calculate their average accuracy over that time period. That for sure would be an impartial "rating" independent of Elo and Era and could settle the GOAT debate once and for all! I am not techno enough and the DAWG is too busy writing his excellent column but perhaps someone good with the technology and interested enough (maybe you sir!?) would invest the time and energy to do this given that the engine(s) would do the heavy lifting. Best always sir, FischerFan signing off.

Awesome content! Bobby Fischer is only next to Paul Morphy! These two are the greatest of all time! Paul Morphy is in Pole Position and Bobby Fischer in 2nd Position! (These two were not "preparation frauds" as Fischer himself described the current version of Modern chess!) Lol🤣🤣 These days Most GMs players are "PREPARATION FRAUDS" according to Bobby Fischer!!🤣🤣 (Magnus and Kasparov included)🤣🤣
@FischerFan-cw7rg
@FischerFan-cw7rg 6 ай бұрын
Well stated sir!! Bobby believed Morphy was the most talented chess player ever. P.M. was perhaps the first strong player to realize that "material" was useful but piece development and mobility would beat material disadvantage in many situations (interesting how the engines have already figgered that out!). Regarding the "preparation fraud" factor that has ruined chess: Another GOAT vote for Bobby is that he called that out years ago and so INVENTED Chess 960 {Fischer Random Chess} to separate the real chess players from the fakes with a great memory!
