The cheating part was one of the most shocking things about japanese culture! Yes, i think its already part of the culture. My first japanese boyfriend said it to me. He kinda had a very western mindset.. I'm from Germany, my boyfriend however is Japanese. In my opinion there are some issues that mainly arise due to differences in the way of looking at certain things. Like, when we first started living together he sort of let me do all the housework without even thinking about it twice. That's just what he was used to from home. Their mother does everything for him and his sister. Luckily though he is very open and outspoken and doesn't mind criticism at all, which makes it easier to talk about things like that. I don't know if that is typical Japanese, but he's also very protective of me, even though I wouldn't call it jealousy and soooo strict when it come to the way things have to be done in a household. Honestly, that can be really annoying sometimes. But it takes time to work stuff like that out. I think a relationship with a Japanese man can feel restricting for a westerner, (depending on where you are from of course) just because of the many many differences of opinion that will probably occur. But then again, that can probably be said for all mixed relationships. Ganbatte if you're currently in such a relationship! :)

My bf comes from a very conservative family, where his mother is completely responsible for taking care of the children, cooking and cleaning, while his dad is basically always at work. And I guess he always kind of expected his life to be the same way. But we've both come a long way since we first met and I think we're getting there. There are few things I can confirm after year and half of dating a Japanese guy (only personal experience, not saying all of them do this): 1. Starts taking ages to reply after you start dating 2. Suddenly gets 'busy' so he 'cannot' take initiative 3. Always messages someone else when you're together/doesn't listen to you 4. If you're a foreigner he will make sure all his friends know about you, sends pictures of you to peole like an advertisement or something 5. Cheats and calls it 'work responsibilies' - literally messaging some chick right in front of me in Japanese thinking I can't read kanji ...watch out for those signs girls!xx

Here in Hungary boys (and even men) tend to take you for granted once you start dating them. Crazy stories... but what i noticed again: The camera has such a small depth of field that the faces are never all in sharp focus at the same time. As I've seen through other videos of yours there's an obvious cultural difference in Japan than in the United States. That being said I would never harp over my significant other because she wanted to spend time with her friends unless it started affecting our relationship. I have no idea how to avoid the penalty box and rarely get to know why I earned the penalty box. Hmmmmm about Australian and British men they are often very enlightened about things like sex....but they can be lazy and irresponsible and not willing to fulfil either a traditional male role OR want to share 50/50 in duties.
