I've had a concussion twice and these two times it felt quite different. The first time I actually was pretty conscious and well for like 15 minutes, then I felt extremely cold and eventually blacked out. I wasn't able to recall events from shortly before passing out, while the second time I was able to remember everything, even though I blacked out immediately, so my guess is that a different region of the brain was affected. It's been diagnosed that my motor nerve has been damaged, and since then I'm having problems maintaining my balance when subject to an external stimulus. That is, for example, when I'm a passenger in a car and the driver accelerates or brakes in a fast manner, I bob my head like crazy, I just can't help it. It's even worse when I'm taking a bus or a tram. Interestingly, when I'm driving by myself and therefore have control of my movement, this issue does not occur. As for the personality, I'd say it stayed the same, though obviously it's hard to be objective here. Anyway, no one has yet said I changed since then, so I assume I've been spared at least that. Excellent video and channel in general, thank you!

For MMA fighters, probability-wise, for every 10-ish matches, they will have about 3 traumatic head injuries due to KO, TKO, Blows to the head, etc.... Boxing on the other hand is much the same as the MMA (many more blows to the head). However, the frequency of TBIs in boxing is slightly decreasing, as participation shifted more to olympics-style boxing and less overall boxing time (5 rounds instead of 8 or 10, 2.5 min rounds instead of 3; you get the idea) I'm studying sport related injuries in college for my statistics class. I had a brain injury 15 years ago when I bumped a bookshelf and something very heavy fell off the top and smashed me in the head. I was a teenager at the time and my mom didnt bother to take me to the hospital to be checked out. So we didnt know about the brain injury until later when I was having alot of problems and got a CAT scan an evidence of the injury was still there. Doctors said I either had a tiny stroke or more likely a minor enough brain bleed that it caused damage but was able to heal itself. I went from having a photographic memory to my short term memory being completely shot. I get headaches all the time on only 1 side of my head right where the injury was. Its really hit or miss if I remember anything and I can forget something almost immediately after being told about it. I also have alot of muscle tics and did have a pretty bad seizure issue but that wasn't diagnosed until 8 years later because i didnt know there were different kinds of seizures and dint bother to report it and over time the seizures became less and less and less until today where I haven't had a seizure in nearly 2 years. The worst part though is that my brain seems to freeze randomly. The best way I can describe it is that my brain blue screens like a computer and I can feel my short term memory just melting away and I forget everything in that moment. I dont know where I am, what I was doing, what i was saying. Usually I can get most of that info back within a few moments but its freaky and is the leading cause of why I cant drive because the last thing I need is for that to happen while im behind the wheel.

I had a head on collision when I was 31 and I do think it caused TBI. My short term memory is worse and my impulse control is worse than before because my head went into the steering wheel then back and then forward again. 3 days later I seized and was diagnosed with epilepsy.

I wonder how much of my lifelong cognitive and psychological issues are related to tripping down a whole wooden staircase and bonking my forehead hard when I was a toddler. I joke about being "brain damaged" but maybe it's not a joke after all LOL

Flipped forward off a bike without a helmet while going down a hill. Wound up with a lump on my forehead the size of a golf ball. I managed to not have any lasting brain damage, and after seeing this video, it's frightening how easily I could have died from one extremely stupid mistake. I haven't ridden a bike since the accident, and I don't think I ever will now, at least not on hills, and not without the best helmet money can buy.

I had two concussion one at 17 years old in 2016 and one in April this year, still have recovering. Also didn't everybody as a kid hit his head extremely hard? As kids are pretty clumsy on average. Btw: heading balls in soccer or any sport where your head meets something hard on multiple occasions, actually does causes minor braintrauma.

Anyone see the police interview where the suspect was acting very odd and out of it and like an hour into it the cop saw he had a bullet hole in his head?

Honestly I know I have brain damage and it scared me. I’ve cracked my head so hard against the pavement skating for years. Had to get staples in my head one time .

Are there ways to protect your brain before you have unexpected trauma? Can Calcium Channel Blockers reduce the amount of calcium entering into brain cells damaged by trauma? Can avoiding high glutamate foods or using Glutamate Blockers reduce the overload of glutamate in the brain caused by trauma?

i drank 24 Litres water in 24 hours , then i experienced symptoms like Lightheaded and dizziness . And i didnt got any treatment because i was alone at home . How would i know that i have suffered brain damage ?
@iceprince41974 жыл бұрын
It sounds like you possibly may have suffered from water intoxication. You should drink no more than 3.7 liters (or 2.7 if you’re a female) in a day. Too much water can lead to hyponatremia, which can lead to swelling of the brain and organs. It’s fine if organs swell, but the brain is encased in literal bone and this can cause compression of the tissue. I would recommend a CT scan, provided your insurance will allow, if you suspect any changes in cognitive behavior or if your doctor recommends it.

@@iceprince4197 yes sir , my brain tissue have been compressed by the bones of my skull . Sir May i please know - Which test will diagnose that there is compression of my brain tissue
@iceprince41974 жыл бұрын
@@AKHIL-mg7cz Computed Tomography (CT) Scan will allow a trained radiologist to determine if there is any noticeable change in structure of the brain. I suggest talking with your doctor about possible symptoms of brain tissue damage and see if he/she can refer you to a professional to get the scan done if necessary.

Always protect the head when you do fall. Brain still will rattle around if you hit hard enough but no where near as much if your entire head is swinging around
