Christian Bale Says Hollywood (and the World) Would Be Better If ‘White Dudes’ Weren’t in Charge of Everything The actor says there would be "so much better films and so much more interesting stories" if white dudes weren't running Hollywood. BY ZACK SHARF DECEMBER 19, 2017 4:10 PM

Christian Bale has had enough of “white guys” running everything in Hollywood and beyond. The actor stopped by AOL Build with his “Hostiles” co-star Rosamund Pike and Wes Studi on December 18 and told the crowd that the reason he moved to the U.S. in the first place was because he wanted his kids to grow up in a “country of inclusion.” Unfortunately, that ideal hasn’t been too much of a reality.

brie larson stunts interview before chris hemsworth .... No, it really all came out of ignorance, to be honest. I didn’t realize that you don’t actually do your own, most people don’t do their own stunts in these movies. I thought you did, and I’ve never been a particularly elegant or athletic person. I’m just an introvert with asthma and felt like I needed to be able to do that. I just thought, “I don’t wanna be on set, and they ask me to do things, and I don’t know how to do it.” So I started training as soon as I could, which was right after I wrapped, so it basically started right as I wrapped picture, I locked picture on the film that I directed. I then went into that, which then turned into nine months of training. And nine months of just training-training, and three months of stunt training with the stunt team. We spent two hours every day, five days a week. And it wasn’t until … everyone just went along with it, and was like, “Cool.” It wasn’t until we started shooting, and I started doing all my own wire work stunts, and flips and stuff that people were like, “You know nobody, now we’ll tell you, nobody actually does this. We just didn’t want you to stop. But now that you’ve kind of accomplished this thing, we don’t normally do this.” And I was like, huh?

For Bre Larson there was ZERO backlash against her character until she literally started it. No one was bitching about her being cast as Capt Marvel, and yet in every interview and at every opportunity she was propping up her character at the expense of others. MCU was already had numerous kick ass female characters, and she just come across as hostile where the environment for her was already accepting and accommodating. Big ol' chip on her shoulder.
@NLGunners
@NLGunners Жыл бұрын
Ehh, there were actually a massive amount of fans who originally disapproved of her casting as Captain Marvel. There are plenty of articles and fan-created lists of actors who people would have liked to see instead of Larson. Also Captain Marvel in the comics was originally a male character. So I think it all started off on the wrong foot, and then she had a level of pettiness and spite where her attitude shifted to an "alright f you all then" type of mindset. Not saying it's right, but that's how I see it

BULLSHI!!!!! Brie started returning fire, only after fanBGmoron TROLLS campaigned ageist her getting the role, and continued to attack her in social while filming, and through the movie playing. Which Samuel L. Jackson verifies, stands up for and fully supports Brie in recent interviews. Rolling Stone asked about Larson being the target of toxic Marvel fans on social media. Samuel said Brie is “stronger person than people give her credit for. Dudes Who Hate Strong Women’ Won’t Destroy Her” Samuel has been friends with Brie since Kong. "She called me and was like, ‘They want me in the Marvel Universe. Should I do it?’ And I was like, Hell yeah! Let’s do it!'” Addressing Larson’s online haters, Jackson said, “She’s not going to let any of that stuff destroy her. These incel dudes who hate strong women, or the fact that she’s a feminist who has an opinion and expressed it? Everybody wants people to be who they want them to be. She is who she is, and she’s genuinely that.”

The entire basis of Snow White is that she had skin as white as snow.... they tried to just shit on the movie even before you see it because they thought "people will watch anything so screw it". So, it's perhaps not surprising that Gal Gadot has strong opinions on the topic of feminism. The actress - who had almost given up on her film career when she landed Hollywood's most badass female role - believes anyone who is not a feminist is by default sexist. "People always ask me, 'Are you a feminist?'" Gadot tells Rolling Stone, in a new interview out this month. "And I find the question surprising, because I think, 'Yes, of course. Every woman, every man, everyone should be a feminist. Because whoever is not a feminist is a sexist.'"

It depends how you define feminism. Where i grew up i was taught that feminism is about women having equal rights to vote, education, job opportunities, to be able to get a mortgage in your own name, to be considered an adult with agency etc. The toxic ideology that the US currently sells as "feminism" is the furthest thing from what feminism is supposed to be for a lot of people.

Brie; its a comic character. Large portion of comic fans are guys. Instead of talking about the movie in a detached way, she got too emotional about it n start...bad mouthing the guys...which are the original target audience. Sure, theres fleminasty n ultra woke folks, but I doubt those folks were comic fans or fans of the character. Also, for her origin story, theres no "hero's journey" formula, unlike batman, spiderman n superman. Disney-marvel should...read some youtube comment sections and try to find those comments that overanalyze any scene. Those are probably the fans. They could learn what the fans like instead of telling the fans what to like. Snow white; after several woke superhero story line, sw declare herself woke. Even galgadot try to....tone it down a bit. Sw goes on it full speed, thinking that the movie is such a big achievement. Well....maybe the rich woke folks like it, but the common folks, the majority, the people, dislike such attitude. Thus, too bad. Whoopsie to both of them.

Actors today have helped destroy Hollywood and turned it into hollywoke. I used to watch movies because of the actors in the movie today. When I watch most new movies, I don't even know or care about the actors in the movie. The age of the great actors like Morgan Freeman,Tom Hanks,Denzel Washington, and many more are gone... I never understood the hate for Brie Larson. I initially thought it had something to do with her all of a sudden being inducted late into the MCU as the most powerful character. But after watching Thor: Love And Thunder, CM is definitely one of the most powerful characters, but it's extremely arbitrary at the same time. I just watched MCU's Secret Invasion and Nick Fury even confirmed that his team was able to gather a lot of the DNA from most of the combatants including Captain Marvel's after the Battle Of Earth during Endgame. I know that a lot of fans trashed Love & Thunder, but the movie did prove that there are a lot of extremely powerful beings out there in the MCU.

Diversity in film critics, really? Who gives a hoot? Yet, as a woke "diversity and inclusion is all that matters" thinker, you felt her mocking tone toward "40-year-old white 'dudes'" was little more than collateral damage towards achieving an agenda. It was perfectly fine for her to mock white men because, well, white men are privileged and thus others such as Larson can freely mock them when the need arises. You think like Larson, thus the primary reason you defend her. Larson received the backlash, rightfully so, because she targeted a specific subset of society, unrightfully so. If Larson, or any actor or actress for that matter, had given that speech in a mature, calm, non-insulting manner it would have gone relatively unnoticed and had 300 views on KZbin. Hollywood actors are constantly virtue signaling and few take notice nowadays. Damn, girl, re-watch that video and attempt to reply that she was not mocking and ridiculing white men in any way, shape or form. White men have simply tired of being portrayed as little more than oppressing, patriarchal, mansplaining, manspreading, male-gazing, cat-calling, gender pay gapping, suppressing pieces of crap. We are speaking up after many years of simply taking it and Larson was woefully unprepared for the backlash. She never saw it coming. You seem confused as well, thinking "Well, it was white dudes, we can mock them, um, let's make this about them opposing more black women film critics." Hope things are clearer now. Alas, you are trying to make this about something it is not. It is not, nor ever was, about objections to more black female film critics, thus your self-proclaimed "genius" gender studies level lecture was all for naught. The entire existence of black women is misrepresented? What planet are you living on? Labeling black women under eternal victimhood will never pay dividends over the long haul. Kinda sad, really, that you have such a low opinion of black women. Also, newsflash - All black women do not think alike. Do Whoopie Goldberg and Candace Owens think alike? To imply all black women would have raved about a godawful movie like A Wrinkle In Time simply because blacks were in it is insulting to them as a whole. You need to apologize to all black women.

I'm sorry but I still strongly disagree with the Brie Larson hate. I lot of stuff she said was taken out of context and made so she looks worse than she actually is. There's dozens of other actors/actresses who have actually done horrible things but haven't been called out for it. Unless you know her personally I don't think it's fair to assume who she as a person.

You see, you think with a woke mindset, that only those who look like those on the screen can relate to that particular film, which all normal people know is absolutely ludicrous. Old white men can never enjoy Harry Potter? C'mon, you're just being silly here to push your agenda. Okay, Larson believes only black women should be allowed to review A Wrinkle In Time, because, well, because, well, black people are in it. In that case, let's take a movie, say, "Dunkirk", a movie about British soldiers trapped on the shores of France during WWII as the German army rapidly approaches. Only whites are seen in the film, women only in passing. No blacks appear in the film whatsoever. Apparently, black women should not be allowed to review this movie because "it wasn't made for them." Hopefully this straightforward example sheds some light on putting all of society into tidy little boxes. In the end, this is what they said. Kinda sad really.

Let me put it all into context. Bottom line, no one gives one rats butt iota on the gender/race breakdown of film critics. Not...one...little....bit. BS CLICK BAIT! No idea who Rachel Zegler is, however I have known Brie since she was a child actor. She ruined nothing, the offers kept on, and are still coming in. She took a break during COVID turning down scripts that wanted her to duplicate characters from pervious projects. She served as a Jury member at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival, and has new projects in the works. Movies and TV series, as well as mini series completed. Hire some decent researchers and fact checkers before making fools of yourselves.
