We may not be as doomed. we may have stupid parties but we are likely to see rid of the terrible Tories & hopefully see them fall below the oposition line allowing us to have at least better voices in the end. we may not have the best going into power but we will at least not have the worst. USA is given options of the worst party or the other worst party as both are filled with eejits from what I've seen & the candates are um Donald & old man. I however hope in my wee part of Northern Ireland that the party that has been growing doesn't win Sein Fein (Irish conservative workers) or Aontú (Irish Christian conservatives) which both refuse to bloody sit. the other one I hope is TUV (sectarian violence conservatives) as they are just Reform UK basically. We then hopefully will see the UUP (unionist conservatives) & DUP (unionist christian conservatives) side with somebody other than conservatives as well the conservatives screwed the Unionist voice last time & hopefully we get the SDLP (labour) with a few seats for a real Nationalist voice (Unionist pro-britain, Nationalist pro-ireland) & then hopefully the green (green of england) & Alliance (Lib dem version) parties also get a fair few seats because they act as centrist voices. I think we also have the Norther Irish conservatives running who may get a seat or two if they're really lucky no idea where they stand, We also have a good amount of independants running which mainly are unionists who disagree with the conservative values most hold. I have no idea what will happen in Wales or Scotland other than one will lose its nationalist party & the other gain more seats. SNP out Plaid Cymru in.

Right wing populism requires a figurehead with a strong personality at the helm in order for those who follow to latch onto, absurdity whilst you typically wouldn't consider it a respectable trait is however a strong one, and provides a barrier from critique as criticisms of core beliefs become dismissed as shallow because followers only see the surface facade.

Shaking hands with someone and having a chat tells you nothing about them as a political leader. They all go around doing that, it's part of campaigning and if that's enough to make you vote rather than actual research, their strategy is working

Basically I voted for a party I was leaning for but didn't know where the guy running stood until I meet him.
