@@G2312 still, nothing like what Britney went through. Even though Amanda's case was 1000 times worse than Britney's, people and the media weren't as hard with her like they were with Brit. So, for me that was an upgrade in empathy compared to 2007-2008.
@susanalopez50525 жыл бұрын
I think the closest thing to what Britney went through in terms of how big the coverage and criticism was and into the scale of the celebrity was Lindsay’s breakdown, but that was also a while ago and is not as recent, but Lindsay’s breakdown was just as mocked and criticized as Britney’s and she was the biggest teenage acting celebrity, only now are we starting to see sympathy surfacing for Lindsay. You could also compare it to Demi lovato, but Demi has never been as big as either Britney or Lindsay, and the conversation about drug addiction really has turned from public shaming into rehabilitation and treatment, plus Demi was always open about her problems and how her life had been affected so there never was as much speculation. I do believe if Britney’s breakdown happened to day the public would have been more empathetic, because the Britney slander also involved body shaming her, a girl being sort of “enslaved” by a big industry, a double standard into men and women cheating on their significant others (men-it’s expected, women-are lying bitches, cry me a river) and a super young woman being put in the middle of the public eye.

Sure, she is not the same performer, but she has grown up and has begun to see her career as her job, as something she is good at, and like most of us, she has her bad days and her great days. She learned the lesson and still standing strong. She is not the best vocalist and not the best dancer anymore, but her persona is what inspires many. She survived hell and came back up.

This isn't the 2000s where talk about seeing a therapist is taboo. It's 2019, where people brag about seeing a therapist for Twitter likes and teen girls pretend to have a mental illness to seem cute/quirky. There would be no backlash. Very good video. It's good to see how empathic this was. You guys only forgot to mention Sam Lufti, which was pretty much the worst person in Britney's life. He was her manager at that time and would do all kinds of things, like drug her with medications all the time, he would hide her dog so she would be desperate and then he would "find" it and be like a hero to her. The day she locked herself in the bathroom she did that because Lufti told her they would take her kids from her and she wouldn't see them ever again. He did all of this after completely shutting her from her family and people who actually cared about her. Her mother released a book telling all of this stuff. I'm just so glad she really is at her best right now and surrounded by people who really love her. She really does deserve the best in the world because even after all of this, she's still a very kind humble human and does her best to help people and make people happy! I really don't know how can someone not love her.

Fast forward to now, she’s in the best shape of her life. Happy, in a relationship with a gorgeous man. A wonderful, loving and supportive mother. She is WINNING! Can’t wait for B10!!!
