As an Engineer and Electrician, I built my own rig using a skyline R33 bucket seat & E brake & bought a cheap frame but chopped it up & made it better, wired the circle button to a plug for the E brake then added the wheel pedals & shifter, I hid all of the wires inside the frame pipes & made sure it has adjustments, I love it & do not at all fancy buying a flash pre built one.

Good vid. I started with an openwheler cheap cockpit, it was a little more than this but still pretty cheap. I really liked it for what it was - customer service from them was excellent too. I got a VRS DD and had upgraded the openwheeler with the DD mount kit, it wasn't perfect and had a little flex but not bad at all. I ended up swapping to an actual rig, but the openwheeler did great for a while.

Anything that brings new simmers to the market is all good I say.

Looks actually pretty decent for a non dd and maybe even alittle peice of wood jammed under the pedal deck might help out alot, plus with it being so cheap if the poor design quality or whatever on the side bothers u u could prob just paint on it and do ur own if ur artistic.
@Al45NewLife22 күн бұрын
It's better when the monitor stand is separate from the rig. It can be moved closer or farther. Split design is less bulky, and eliminate vibrations on the monitor.
@BionicBurkeАй бұрын
You might be able to stiffen up those trays by getting some shims and jamming them on the side without the screw clamp. Shouldn't look too bad if you get some of the black composite ones since it would be down below sight-lines of the super fancy red painted panels.

Karl great review btw, what tends to happen is that major brands who cannot shift enough stock let other distributors rebrand and at a massive reduction of the cost! But, as for warranty it can be limited, but essentially you could be getting a bargain!
@dblgonzoАй бұрын
If you play in VR or use a wall-mounted monitor like you have. You could use the monitor arms in the position you have and use clamps or bolts to hold the end of the pedal plate and prevent the flex.

Nice review! I am in the plans of buying a race setup. Won't be playing any serious and don't have a massive budget but I still want some "real" stuff and this one seem to be really good for my purpose. It looks pretty good and looks somewhat expensive like many other cheap things. But as always when on closer look and use you realize the price. I was thinking if it might be possible to cheaply modify the pedal stand to be more sturdy or solid? Maybe brace it so it don't budge down when pedals are pressed hard, idk.
@FitzTrippleZАй бұрын
My sim rig cost be about 600$ total. my wheel is a DD Cammus C5 for 310$ used G29 pedels for 50$ and the Gpro hub to use them standalone was 45$. Ebay gated shifter and ebay handbrake for 50$ each. I use an older TV i got for free off of facebook and my stand is made of 2x4s from my barn and an old padded broken rocking chair i cut the legs off. she races like any other non motion sim. you CAN game on a budget but there is a point where going for the cheaper option can be bad for preformance. Do your research on each part and make an informed decision. dont just shoot for the most expensive or most cheap option.

Got a Hottoby tubular cockpit from ebay for £250, doesn't flex at all, seat is as adjustable and comfy as my own car, would recommend.
@aaronthomas61552 ай бұрын
I have one of the Hottoby cockpits that's now marketed as a flight sim cockpit. They offered a seat mounting section for it, so I ordered that. Once all bolted together properly, it's quite solid. Only downside is that you have to source your own seat. It's adjustability is nearly unlimited since everything can adjust separate of everything else. The cockpits like in this review leave a lot to be desired when it comes to adjustments....

But now after seeing this one I think I got ripped off even if I only spend $150 because this one looks way better then mine and it’s a Formula style which is what I want, currently I have a Touring cockpit. I couldn’t get an expensive cockpit after spending over $1k on my DD+wheel base clubsport F1 V2.5 wheel and pedals, my wife wouldn’t have been nice to me. 😢

I used to own a playseat evolution. I upgraded to a sim lab gt1 pro. I think no one should ever buy one of these cheap flexible frames if they seriously want to race. They are genuinely chinese crap compared to an extrusion rig. It isnt just the flex that the issue, it is impossible to adjust these to where you want it and that ergonomically fits you. And the post gets in the way if you are using three pedals. The seat being flexible will make it almost impossible to be consistent on the brake, you really want a firm support for your lower back. I would buy this for a child that just wants to drive around in forza on a logitech, not for anything serious. Although when I have a child I will buy him/her an extrusion rig if they are interested in racing

Motion rigs are over priced for the experience. I've a DoF 3 axis platform. While it's real good, the price is still hard to justify. I recommend transducers if you aren't running them yet. Much better bang for buck and they enhance the driving experience more than you would think.
