glad helped. you can install an inline trans filter in cooling line, just make sure you confirm the direction of flow as these filters need to be in correct flow direction. thanks & cheers

EGR in that thing will be full of solid oil and crud, same with the intake manifold. ProVent 200 or RCC351K (or model that could be available specifically for this vehicle from Ryco) is the fix in the meantime, after the EGR valve has been pulled out and cleaned + checked to make sure it's working correctly. 99% of the time they just need a clean and then the electrical connector resistance checked for spec. I've pulled apart several intake manifolds on diesels with just 100k clocked and they are full of solid material, unbelievable...yet totally prevented with a properly designed catch can (I only recommended the two companies I mentioned).
@YepThatsIt2 жыл бұрын
hi, try using a better low soot engine oil and a catch can will help keep oil vapour from circulating as well. cheers
@DoubtingThomas3332 жыл бұрын
@@YepThatsIt I use c1 or c4 engine oils with DPF equipped vehicles. EGR is very high even at idle in diesels, 50% at idle is normal, this is just an inherent design thing.

A bottle of Lucas transmission stop slip/fix will add a lot more heat tolerance to the transmission too. Just FYI. Every little bit helps.

Really wish manufacturers would put coolers on as stock for cars capable of towing....really a joke they think a heat exchanger is going to work.
@YepThatsIt2 жыл бұрын
hi, heat exchangers are designed to warm up your trans fluid quicker so the rubber seals dont scrub out in sub-zero temps. many people think they are a cooler. its best to bypass completely and add a trans cooler, eliminates chance of getting coolant in your trans too. cheers

How do you rate lubegards transmission flush? considering it eventually for a flush on a BA falcon with 174xxx km and refill with tq 95.
@DoubtingThomas3332 жыл бұрын
The best flush is fluid changes more often. I also add a bottle of Lucas transmission fix every fluid change. There are a few good products on the market, but that's the usual one I buy. Anyway, lubeguard products are good too.
@YepThatsIt2 жыл бұрын
hi, unless you have heaps of metallic swarf and/or coolant in your trans, just changing the amount of fluid that comes out when you do a service is enough to boost the trans fluid properties. if you add magnets to the pan, this is a better option to help keep really fine magnetic debris ( that is smaller than the filter element ) out of circulation. often when a trans is high mileage/heavy duty use, by doing a full flush can make it operate worse - this is because older broken down fluid is often thicker than new fluid, so will pass easier through any internal pressure leaks. a trans bypass cooler will also help trans fluid stay cooler and thicker for longer. hope that makes sense cheers

Fg xr6 turbo ute. Would you recommend an aftermarket PWR heat exchanger or an external trans cooler and get rid of heat exchanger all together? Cheers.

Sir, appreciate for your time again. I got a question. If I change the cooler with a bigger one should I put more fluid into the tranny or not? I mean shoul the level be the same on the dipstick as it has been before?
@YepThatsIt2 жыл бұрын
hi, yes if the capacity is increased you will need to add fluid...always wise to check the fluid level according to manufacturers recommendations and according to required temp. cheers

hi hate is such a strong word......in Oz we dont need them to help warm up trans temp quicker, so here we get rid of them to help eliminate chance of getting coolant in with the trans fluid and cool better. cheers
