How COOLER Being canon could SAVE Dragon Ball!
Cooler is a character many people want to see become canon within the series, but some of those people deny the possibility due to the assumption it's "impossible" story-wise, and there's seemingly no reason for his implementation into the story. I explain WHY Cooler becoming canon actually has a bigger chance of happening than many believe. I also show how his late arrival to the story could still work narratively and possibly even SAVE the series in its struggle for longevity.

The amount of potential interesting story lines you could start with cooler is absurd. Cooler always struck me as more competent than frieza and had to actually earn his power, i feel that cooler would be a breath of fresh air to have him alongside frieza.

Got the whole idea here: Have a flashback showing Cooler weaker than the Ginyu force and then cut to after he has been training for years and deciding it is finally time to avenge his family, but just tests himself against the saiyans. Then he later goes to take out Champa as a true test before going after Beerus for destroying his people's home and forcing them to serve under him doing his job for him. Beerus doesn't take the threat seriously, Cooler gets exposed to and controls destroyer energy, kills Champa (doesn't erase), and then resolves to go after Beerus finally. 5th form Black Cooler in UI Omen with Destroyer Ki then fights Ultra Vegito and narrowly wins before Beerus cheap shots him and puts him in a sword. Like, make it follow Cooler and have his motivations seem legitimate. Him losing his squad from them holding off the saiyans when he escapes also steels his resolve to defeat them when he fights them later and distracts from fighting Beerus. It is important to cheap shot the crackfic idea of Frieza having a stronger brother at the end, after defeating Vegito. It's the comedy manga ending energy we need.

Loved the video, I do believe Cooler deserves to be "canon" hate that word as I'm a massive Dragon Ball fanatic and to me all content is appreciative and expansive to the DB Universe. Anyways, just like with Broly there is room for Cooler & hopefully Janemba maybe even Turles at some point too. As you kinda touched on I think and hopefully it plays out that way, Frieza to be done with Revenge on Goku & Vegeta, Black Frieza intro might've just proved that as a testing of his new power. In the T.O.P Frieza had some sort of awakening/realisation of some degree seeing a much bigger picture that being - Existence of other Universes/ Their Gods & most importantly setting eyes on Zeno. Hopefully Frieza moving forward can see Goku/Vegeta as just Rivals, kept to the side after Frieza's character development towards the end of Super to date it would be such a waste to have him fight Goku/Vegeta to the death only to be beaten and killed again. That be too predictable of an ending for Frieza so for something different it be great to see another end regardless, doesn't mean they cant have another bout to some degree perhaps keep pushing limits maybe have Frieza become an anti-hero if his end goal isn't to replace Zeno himself.

I’m fully with you on the “canon” thing. I really don’t like debating it because from my perspective, Dragon Ball doesn’t have a true continuity be it Super or GT. And even the movies are considered side dimensions, it just doesn’t make sense to me why so many people get hung up on the word.

Example Cooler's Revenge could easily be fitted into the 3yr time period from when Trunks kills metal frieza and before Androids 19 and 20 appear . That's how I like to imagine it😊and well Super and GT to me are just different time periods for the characters meaning different vibes/themes and such

Something that sticks out to me is something that pairs with Freeza's dismissive behavior towards Goku and Vegeta. He specifically chose the color of his Golden Form to be a kind of parody of Super Saiyan. Basically, it's gold so that he can get what he views as poetic revenge by taking down the Saiyans who killed him with a golden glowing form of his own that surpasses theirs. Revenge was his specific focus when coming up with that form. Black Freeza on the other hand is a form that bears no resemblance to anything that has appeared prior. It's not a reflection of Super Saiyan Blue or Ultra Instinct or etc. It's new and unique. Paired with his dismissive, carefree behavior it's as if to say that his entire goal has shifted and he's now aiming higher. The question then being, why? Cooler doesn't have to be the answer to that question, and honestly it doesn't have to be because of a previously non-canon character at all. However, something that I would like to see is an enhanced focus on the Demon Realm. Within the main, canon series so far we haven't gotten much of a look of the realm that Dabura once ruled over. We've seen the gods and the angels and even the king of all, but we still know very little about the Makaioshin and their ilk. It would be cool to see this aspect of the lore expended on with Freeza having made some rather unsavory deals to achieve his incredible power.

I personally think Cooler should appear in an arc of his own. My idea is that he would have been sealed away by Frieza(by either the help of a sorcerer, trapping him, or some other way) due to Frieza being worried that Cooler would take his spot as leader. He would then try to lie his way out of the situation by telling his father he either died in battle or was imprisoned somewhere by a sorcerer, Cold would see through Frieza's bullshit, but would probably think "well if he managed to trick and possibly kill his brother, then he must be more fit to be a leader than Cooler". The events of the story would go on normally, with Cooler being able to break free, and then start to plan out a way to conquer the universe once more, plotting against the G.O.Ds and Angels and become the most powerful being in the universe. Just imagine how much of a threat a being with Frieza's potential and with at least 50+ years of training would be.

Here's another reason he might not have shown up. He's like the middle child. Frieza is the favored son. So Cooler was off doing his own thing, running his own show, and training all those years, because he had to to survive in environments that pre Super Frieza would have died in, thus, giving him a reason to be so powerful if he showed up. He was basically running his own Cooler force, taking over planets. Another thing, if you wanted him to be a good guy, he could be like an anti-hero. Imagine a movie centered around a planet that has something Frieza wants, so the gang tries to beat them to the punch there. They get on the planet, and hear tales of a, now hear me out, like in Abridge Episode of Bardock, a violent savior. Someone who came to the planet, and is worshiped after saving their people in one of his battles with the many beasts that live there, allowing a more peaceful race to blossom, even if that wasn't his intention, so he slowly began to care about the people who showed him such intense adoration, and began to take a more active role. So, when Frieza does get to the planet, he's met with the gang, and after a length battle, the damage wakes up Cooler, who shows un in some kind of cloak, and as he slowly reveals himself, Frieza recoils, and realizes that it's Cooler, and that he seems far stronger than he was when they last met. So Cooler could literally be the star of his own movie.

I had often wondered, since they made Broly canon, why not Cooler. They would have to give a reason why he was absent all this time though. They could make him similar but different to his non canon self. Cooler in the movies seemed less evil. He was still ruthless and cold hearted, but he didn't really have the sadism that Frieza had. He wasn't nearly as arrogant and treated his soldiers better, even fighting alongside them, if they were being overwhelmed by the Z fighters. He could serve as a unique villain or even be neutral and actually help the z fighters destroy Frieza, if he hated Frieza and wanted to kill him himself at some point.

I think that it’d be better if cooler was a threat to frieza instead of an ally. I think that frieza might’ve “killed” cooler because of how much stronger he was since he’s a mutant, and usurped him as colds heir. Cooler would go on to train for years and achieve his 5th, golden and black form to get his revenge, hell maybe even something further than that. Eventually he attacks frieza and he destroys him so badly that frieza just barely escapes with his life. Frieza ends up training but isn’t sure how he matches up against cooler after so he determines he needs the saiyans as assistance. I feel that frieza would have spared goku and vegeta in the granolah saga for the purpose of making them motivated to surpass him, so that they could actually assist him in beating cooler instead of him. Plus it’s better than having yet another arc where frieza is the main threat.

I have my own idea for a Cooler spin off that explains where he was in cannon for the story. Originally I thought he'd be a bounty hunter who severed his ties with Frieza and King Cold, and forge his own path in life. But now I think the story can work WITHOUT the bounty hunter thing, and just have Cooler break away from the Cold family lineage, and live life determining his own destiny.

Yes, thanks my bro! The Dragon Ball Franchise needs Cooler, seeing that 1 movie only character is now Cannon, Cooler is the perfect foil to spice things up. If anything, he could point out the Frieza waste time and resources for getting his revenge and that annoys Cooler. Went to Namek, lost everyone that went there and came but with nothing and nearly died. Went to Earth with their Father for revenge, lost everyone, again, including their father. Gets resurrected, trained and went back to Earth, again, with an army to get revenge, again, lost everyone and died at Earth, again. Came back from the dead, again, found Broly and went back to Earth, the third time, got the Dragon Balls then got his ass kick by the person that Frieza found and then lost Broly and left home with his tail in-between his legs and odds are, lost so many people but not as much as the second round to Earth. With all those loses, that would be a great time for Cooler to take center stage. Yeah, I know about Black Frieza but it doesn't help the case that Frieza lost more times against Saiyans. If anything, Cooler could see that as a sign that Frieza is mentally unstable on his lost records and seeing him wanting to control the Gods as a bad business investment and want to see Frieza as his weakest and then End him when thing gets worst for Frieza. Seeing that Cooler worked hard to gain his portion of the universe and Frieza was just given to him and squander it because of a bunch of Monkeys. My mind is just flowing with ideas on how they could introduce Cooler, his reason to be there and how he places a part for Frieza's downfall.

Freeza didnt seem to like fusion being a thing in Broly. So my idea is Freeza found his brother in another galaxy, doing what his family does, and brought him back. He trained with him in that time chamber he used to get Cooler up to par....to be his fusion partner to take on gods and Gogeta/Vegito/whatever.

Cooler isn’t anything like Frieza in most cases. He does want to be the strongest and whatever but he has zero desire to be like his brother. I think him being antagonistic turned anti hero would be the most fitting for his character but him not being able to defeat his brother would be kinda sad because it’ll just be another “Goku wins because he does” type deal. Need to get away from that trend.

Cooler appearing now would make sense and he could take on the heroes with their new forms and all. Freeza's had that major powerup from training, and since Cooler was never shown training either, he could have an even bigger power surge from training than Freeza obtained, being the more naturally gifted fighter - heck, he went golden in Heroes just by hearing that Freeza did it. Cooler is never actually shown or said to have even once trained in his life, which was an idea started by Dragonball Multiverse. We see in Movie 6 that he lazily floats around in a hover chair on his ship, and his Squad was surprised to see him get involved when they were fighting Goku. So if you have Cooler train, it's totally believable that he could obtain a power to fight the current roster.

I mean at the end of the day the power scaling is so broken at this point it also opens for that. I think the best justification of his power if he were to be cannon would be in the form of metal cooler, because he can have multiple copies and each of them help cooler adapt Basically in the beginning he’d be a joke in power and then he quickly adapts and starts becoming a serious problem

Cooler is indeed a great villain and it is a shame he was never made cannon, and sadly he will never thanks to Freezer's new transformation. Still story wise if Cooler was alive and free, it woudlnt make sense to introduce him this late in game. Specially more because: 1) The Cold clan are extremely prideful and take any disrespect to any memeber of their clan as personal. So if Cooler didnt take revenge of his little brother's "death" he would take reveneg for the death of his father, King Cold, who still the leader of the Cold Clan 2) If Cooler was alive, then he would have either taken control of the Empire in the absence of both his father and brother. Or Sorbet would have gone searching for him, instaed of ressurecting Freezer, specially because it would be easier than the latter. The only way for him to be cannon, is for him to have been vanished from the Cold Clan, because he couldn't belive his father was giving the Empire to Freezer instead of him, his first born and clearly the superior son. So him getting vanish would indicate why he never avnaged his father and brother, hecause is no longer part of the clan and he has not interest on what happens to his family.

I mean, we know there are at least 4 galaxies in Universe 6 So what if after Frieza destroyed the Saiyans and his Galaxy was ultimately being dominated. Cooler could be in another, expanding their territory. Maybe King Cold preferred Frieza or found Cooler to be less of a worthwhile Son. So decades later with Frieza returned (at this stage only for a year or two) Cooler has came back. Maybe with the collapse of the Frieza force he has been slowly making his way back. Then, learning about Frieza's return he becoems curious. Digging into it, he learns of what happened. Including Frieza's new form. Cooler could be brought to a similar power by saying he is always training. Maybe he wanted to go off on his own. Not liking how his father pampered Frieza. He wanted to train and could be comparable power. Maybe engaged in an espionage war with Frieza. Possibly bringing in a villain like Morro or someone else. Maybe Cooler finds Frieza's ignoeing returning their Father to be areogant. But maybe he respects it. Not caring for him either, and they make a plan. Cooler deals with the Galactic Patrol why Frieza keeps plausible deniability. Being the scapegoat in this matter and maybe even targetting Tarble. These are ramblings but its fun. If Broly can appear canon, in Super Cooler and then I'd say Bojack are the most likely Movie Villains to be converted

Managing ideas to write movies characters and lore into it so they could be reintroduced but now in canon: Coola could emerge as the brother of Frieza that supposedly died in a quest for Frieza empire while not being a member of his royal family due to weakness in power, being so despised by his father. He is utilizing the Big Gette Star so he could get power for his specoal tree, that then would gather him the access for the godly fruit of might, a fruit that generates the Supreme Kais and King Kais, but only can be accessed by enough genki (ki of the living), that he could get from planetary life-form. Their objective is to reunite the remaining Saiyans, purify the mixed ones, eat those fruits for godlyhood evolution, and conquer the entire Universe, fulfilling their destiny as a warrior race. Garlick Jr. could be the descendent of a fallen angel that had feelings for a mortal, something not allowed for angels. Saonel and his family ends up dead by someone, and that is to put into an end his sense of reason, putting him in the necessity of doing an ritual that could give him enough power so he could conquer Universe 6 and by so no one like his family could ever suffer the same fate. The ritual fails, a demon invades his body and take care of his necessities of power, but also get more and more control over him, corrupting his mind and giving no chance for our heroes to beat this Super Namekian. Janemba could be Uub, when taken over by anger, have relapses of his past life as Kid Buu. Someday he got some snaps that turn him into Janemba for some reason, that is a reborn variation of Majin Buu. Hirudegarn is a demon of time. As there are Kaioushins of Time, there are Makaioushins of Time, gods that sustain the balance of chaotic space-time. When a Kaioushin of Time is dead, other one is put into their place, not doing so would make Hirudegarn, and other demons like him take over the place of order in space-time administration, causing anomalies that can simply erradicate the entire Universe. It's due to the Kaioushin of Time existence that there are no absurdly infinite timelines with proportions and distortions so disturbing that could bring the end of the entire Multiverse. The Kaioushin of Time is killed by a team called "The Time Breakers", unleashing Hirudegarn that would distort time by itself and create various anomalies. Dr. Wheelo could be a minor villain for Goten and Trunks, or what, to resolve, and I got no ideas for him, most of his already have been utilized. Boujack could be a Universal pirate, someone that jump from Universe-to-Universe so he could gatter their utilities and comercialize on them. I believe him being a villain for Gohan to beat down isn't a problem, the problem is justifying his strength to take on Beast Gohan. Going to GT Line, we could have Baby, Shadow Dragons and maybe the Villains Revival, but that last one could be done in Hirudegarn appearence. Baby is a Tsufuru-jin, a smartass race of pure evil that believe their capacities in inteligence put them all into superiority to Saiyans, considering them barbaric, not due to action in brutality, but for their mentality of protection and sentiments, that could limit their power capability. He lives in Universe 6, and IDK more ideas, the point of revenge have already been utilized for Granolah. Shadow Dragons idk, I am kind bored now, so maybe later. If anyone wants to rewrite a bit of that, give more ideas, change something, just reply with your point of view, no problem.
