I love Keystone Motel so so much because ruby and sapphire are both right. Ruby's right, Pearl betrayed their trust in a way that is deeply personal and shes allowed to be mad about it. And Sapphire's right, continuing to be cold and distant with Pearl will cause more problems than it solves. Acting like Ruby is being ridiculous for being mad is thoughtless, but acting like Sapphire is being callous for wanting the whole thing to blow over is immature. I'm not gonna lie I'm usually Ruby in these scenarios, some things make me so MAD that I don't think clearly and blow up at people and while its not fair to do that its also not fair to just dismiss when someone is hurt and angry. In media you dont usually see the 'irrational' party portrayed as being valid, its nice

One thing I consistently praise SU for doing is making both sides of an argument believable and have merit. Interpersonal conflict is much more believable here and explained by history and different personalities which is explored more and much more realistic than other shows.

I’ve noticed A lot of people get confused at how future vision works, Garnet has said in the past that she can’t see “the future”, just possible outcomes, like the river analogy of a winding river with different paths and she controls the ship. she can choose what she wants to do to get to the most desired outcome, and sometimes there are outcomes she never saw. she has to specifically look into the future of a person or situation, which is why she said “no matter what I can’t see us finding peridot” because she was looking into peridot not Pearl

Seeing the way Sapphire can get a little stuck in her own head due to her future vision, makes me wonder how much of her personality contributed to Sugilite’s ego. Like sure, Amethyst’s impulsiveness and Ruby’s temper played a part in her rampage, but I’d argue Sapphire’s future vision played a big part too. Here’s what I mean: Imagine knowing how every argument you and your significant other will end, and then just expecting that outcome and never making the effort to admit any fault or resolving it quicker, just waiting for things to go a certain way. Having future vision, makes Sapphire a bit relaxed and reserved to a fault. It’s like having the answer to a math problem, but not putting in the effort to show your work. In a relationship, that kind of thinking could lead to a sense of entitlement, or at least that’s how you might be perceived by others. Sapphire’s wisdom and boundless knowledge of how things will play out, gives her a bit of self-importance, and at times, a little too much. Fusing as Sugilite however, turned those traits into ego to where she wouldn’t listen to Pearl when she said they were losing themselves and staying together for too long. Sugilite was basically an example of what could happen to gems that are just using each other, staying together for too long, something we’re now seeing take a toll on Lapis in her fusion as Malachite…

Hey, just subbed! Love to see your reactions, especially these duo videos with you and Indi together! Thought I might share a fun little Steven Universe fact if you weren't aware of it already: Every main character in the show has a signature motif instrument or style. Amethyst is represented by electric drum kits; Steven by ukelele and chiptune (that 8-bit sound you've mentioned a couple of times in Steven's songs); Garnet by synth bass; Pearl by classical/swing piano; Greg by Guitar; Rose by Strings; and Connie by Violin to name the main few (non-spoiler related) that come to mind. You can often hear these motif instruments in their unique songs/ background music and when fusion occurs, the instruments often play together (for example, Ruby has drum beats whilst Sapphire has synth, thus making synth bass). So yeah, music basically plays a huge role in the show and it's fun to keep an ear out for as things go on!

I honestly don't blame in why garnet gave pearl the silent treatment after Cry For Help. Cuz after that stupid stunt pearl pulled, it was just messed up for few reasons. One, peridot is still out there trying to escape from earth, so pearl has been wasting a lot of time, and second is because garnet was used by pearl all because pearl is just so desperate to have that connection she used to have with rose, and for garnet this was very messed up because fusion is a very personal thing for her.

Sapphire doesn't have a gauntlet. Her power is future vision like Lapis' power is wayer. As we have seen before with Pearl or Amethyst, gems can summon more than one of their weapon. This means that the gauntlets are Rubies. Gems seem to have a power or a weapon but not both. That is at least what I've always seen.

As a kid i watched steven universe when it came out and thought the series ended with the lapis episode. Far later i saw a little part of the season 1 finale around when these episodes aired😊 it was literally my fav series and i was so happy! Still is my fav!
