Excellent analysis, one of the most important characters, the wife of a sewage worker, She is a dalit woman as well, who does not know her age, does not know much about how the system, is fed up with the court dates but she has self-esteem and refuses to accept the money from her lawyer.

Finally someone chose this masterpiece for the analysis. This is a perfect movie with each scene speaks more than respective dialogue. The major focus of this movie is "Contradiction". 1. After debating on Victoria law the next shot shows how we have advanced super market in town indicating our life style is changed but not basic laws.! 2. Right after Kamble's folk song, kids performed on Item number, Kamble is arrested for his national folk song but pub has artist who perform Brazil street songs. 3. The leady advocate is fighting for other's rights but at home she don't have voice. Her son simply denies to eat vegetable because it was his unfavorite vegetable. There are many more Easter eggs in this movie. All credit goes to its Writer & Director Chaitanya Tamhane. @Cinemawali: Requesting for 'The Disciple' analysis. Regards,

Wow, what an analysis. Had watched this movie 4-5 years ago but I couldn't really appreciate it, but this video really helped. The voice was perfectly in sync with running images. Can't believe tamhane was just 27 when this released. Also voiceover format is the best. Waiting for the disciple's analysis(hope you do it).

I watched this film recently after avoiding it for too long....have to say , amazing film and I liked how the film ends...this film is more about how our justice system works (which is shown through the different characters) than any particular character....btw amazing video

It is really hard hitting courtdrama, It touched many political issues without much exaggeration. Subtle movie to know the social and political ideas of today although the movie was released in 2014 yet the situation is relevant even now! Have to appreciate the director

I think we keep some professions in a pedestal and expect them to be people with a sound sense of morality. But in reality everyone is a common man . They think its just their jobs . But when they see other news about injustice and all they shake their heads in disapproval. This kind of detachment and black and white thinking about social problems is the problem . I think good movies can change that. Recently I was thinking , if a STAR hero, Plays the role of an auto driver for example with a severe sense of justice and style and charisma, people who like them and follow them , especially auto drivers will have a sense of pride in being in that job . And that sense of proudness in itself will make them behave in way that is very dignified and gives them a sense of duty . It is only when someone takes pride in their work will they be able to avoid the temptations of being lazy and not going the extra mile to give justice to the work. I think cinema has a very strong power to influence people in that sense . Another example are doctors , there are doctors who are inherently empathetic, there are surgeons who take pride in doing a perfect surgery . And there are some dumb quacks too .... Since we have glorified doctors so much , we fail to recognise the things that makes a person a good doctor. When good doctors are recognised and appreciated more in the public view , rather than generalising a good doctor as someone who treats patients at low cost , more doctors will have the motivation to continue giving their 200% to their profession. What do you think?
