The moment where Kayano gets revived is meant to be the tying up of Koro-sensei's character arch. He failed to save the woman he loved because he was so focused on using his powers to kill, and so he refined his skills to the point where he could stop it from happening all over again. That's why Kayano, the sister of Koro-sensei's lover, was the one to get killed too. To add to that sense of satisfaction where he can now say he never let a person in that family die again.

I’m a math tutor and I’ve quoted korosensei multiple times to great success. The assassination style really does beat out the battle style of education. As a tutor I can use a separate blade for each student. The fact that advice from an anime helps me teach puts a smile on my face. I usually don’t mention that to my students.

@@Chxrry_Berry favorite quote when they screw up is “the master has failed more often than the student has tried” be a math tutor for ten years then come back and see if I’m still better than you. I usually tutor in algebra so just show them how to kill the problem with equations or graphs. Whichever comes easiest. Standard curriculum only teaches equations THEN graphing. If they have trouble grasping a concept get to know all about the student so they can associate the math with their life. I once helped a FORMER drug addict with fractions by comparing them to dividing drug dosages. They were very good at that. If that doesn’t work give them a history lesson on WHY the math was developed in the first place. Some people want to learn about death cults or making pyramids more than how to balance their bank account. Luckily I’m a math history nerd too.

It feels harsh to consider Koro-sensei reviving Kayano as a gag since it has motivation. Koro-sensei learned to fix severe injuries such as the case with Kayano's because he was afraid of experiencing the same grief as he felt when he lost the love of his life. (It's also poetic how he saved Kayano, the sister of the one he failed to protect)
@astralizer999 ай бұрын
"Nagisa it's been seven years LEARN A SECOND MOVE" has me laughing so much
I actually would argue the show handled "reviving" Kayano really well. We've already seen multiple times how overpowered he is including seeing him using thread like tentacles . Add on the fact that it would make sense for him to have put the effort into learning how to accomplish this kind of thing given he literally found himsef unable to save Aguri and wanted to prevent that ever happening again. Sure it's a bit contrived and over the top but then again that's basically him as a character. His whole design from the very beginning was built around being as overpowered and super capable as possible so it makes sense when in this moment he is overpowered and super capable.
@oguhaner76089 ай бұрын
Kinda it a show of his progression back when the sister die he was a killer he was a weapon who had used his abilities to soly to harm others when she was injured in front of him he couldn't save her after she got a harpoon through her stomach something similar happen with kayano but now he change he now began to use his abilities for the betterment of other and he was able to save her because of it his desire to protect his student. the past this encourage him to change and him saving showed he had grown for the better fully changing him self from a weapon to a protector.

Okay um I’m kind of glad that Danny Phantom pointed out the frustration of fake out deaths because *GOD* that creates a very skeptical viewer on an otherwise emotionally charged moment. I remember watching Kayano’s stand for the first time and kind of gapping at the silhouette but otherwise going “alright so how is she gonna recover from this?” Like Danny says, much respect to the writers who stick to their guns and go *“say goodbye to this character scrubs.”* On the flip side, it also make the death of Koro-sensei MUCH more heartbreaking and horrific because *oh god he’s gone he is actually dead for fukc’s sake-*

A reaction to Bungou Stray Dogs would be amazing. It handels the transitions between comedy and dark aspects a lot smoother, especially in later episodes. When I was watching this for the first time, I was still in Highschool. By this point, the anime was years finished and I actually already knew the ending. But actually watching the story, seeing the characters grow and bond with Kuro-Sensei and all the hardships they went through together, almost like a family, made the ending REALLY hit me. I watched the last few episodes during a 2 hour free period I had for school, and I cried pretty hard (Not much sound, but alot of tears). I was so broken down with tears that my teacher and one of the aids for that period actually had to check on me to make sure I was ok. Technically I was, but I absolutely wasn't at the moment. Such a good show, and easily in my top 10. Glad your journey with it has ended and you got to experience it in the fullest.

It's a 12 episode drama/mystery series where seemingly random people arrive at a bar with no memory of how they got there, and must compete in a game of skill to determine if they live or die. The fact that it gets away with so much, undercutting it's tension but somehow never losing the tension of the moment, and making you laugh yet cry at the end, it can only happen with a damn good story written with excellent precision.

Congratulations on finishing this anime! It was fun and great to watch your reactions from beginning to end. And also it's funny since this year is actually the 10th anniversary of Assassination Classroom! The manga first came out on July 2, 2012. Still can't believe it's THAT old.

I've enjoyed your reactions to one of my favorite series, even if I didn't always agree with your assessments. Certain comments you made did provide me with a new perspective. Most importantly, I hadn't considered that Koro-sensei, at least to start, might have been using these kids as an "out" to prevent or forestall his own death. By giving these kids the educational and emotional support they lacked, he created an army of assassin proteges. But then why didn't he actively sic them on his enemies, even keep them from getting involved when his life was at stake? It's because he genuinely cared about honoring Yukimura's legacy, supporting these forsaken children, and making up for his mistakes with the Reaper. Whatever his motivations might have been at the start, there can be no doubt about them at the end. I've heard teachers say they learn as much from their students as they teach them. Perhaps this is true for Koro-sensei as well.

I think what makes the ending so hard to watch is the un-interrupted crying like you just have to watch a bunch of middle schoolers crying over their teacher's death.
