At the end of the video if you made it that far, I say this isn't canon but until Disney comes up with a new story for this, I'll accept it, since it really was canon when ROTS came out and when the book came out upon Lucas approval. It's SO annoying how Disney just makes new rules. At the time of ROTS this was the explanation by James Luceno. I wonder what story Disney with come up with now for Vader...

I like this story. I really hate the fact that Disney completely changed the whole thing about the light saber crystals, I felt that the old approach really helped to subtly show that the Sith were adaptive and innovative by coming up with the synth crystals (which after all makes sense, they came up with light sabers and holocron in the first place). The new approach is too simple and blunt.

Dylan Rodrigeus i'm sorry but I disagree. George Lucas was the original creator of Star Wars and, officially at least everything that went into the EU he signed off on, including the subtle differences between the Jedi and Sith regarding their use of light sabers. When he sold the rights to Disney they decided to throw the EU out so they could more easily change Star Wars to fit their ideals which has traditionally been simplistic.

Dylan Rodrigeus You get in trouble if you try to make money off of fanfiction. Plenty of people made plenty of money with the material that went into the expanded universe because George Lucas signed off on it for the simple reason 1. He owned the rights and 2. He was getting money.
