25:21 - Look up "Christmas Truce of 1914", it's a really amazing true story that was adapted into a movie at least once or twice. The gist is that on Christmas Eve, in the midst of World War I, many of the Germans and Allies (France and Britain) agreed to temporary ceasefires in the spirit of the holiday. They sang carols together, traded stories and supplies, and even played games of football (soccer). There's a lot more to it, so I'd definitely suggest reading up on it, or finding a really good video that talks about it. I know that Simple History did a video on it, and Extra History did a series of short videos about it.

Yup, and the film clips Doug is showing while talking about it is from Joyeux Noel, a really spectacular movie about one location in the trenches where it happened. I checked it out because it was on Doug's top 10 list, and I can't recommend it enough

25:17 YES This is a True Story of History: Starting on the night of Christmas Eve, in the year 1914, many German and British troops fighting in World War I on the Western Front sang Christmas Carols to each other across the lines, and at certain points the Allied soldiers even heard brass bands joining the Germans in their joyous singing. The next morning, both sides crossed the lines across no-man’s-land, climbing out of their trenches, and shook hands with each other. The men exchanged presents of cigarettes, candy, plum puddings and sang carols and songs. Some Germans lit Christmas trees around their trenches, and there was even a documented case of soldiers from opposing sides playing a game of soccer.

Santa Claus Conquers the Martians is a real film. It's a 1964 science-fiction comedy that is noteworthy for being considered one of the worst movies of all time and having the first screen appearance of Mrs. Claus. It's only worth your time if you want a laugh during the holidays. Another great reaction video.

I don't know whether I should recommend you watch the live-action "Dr. Seuss's How the Grinch Stole Christmas" review or the "A Muppets Christmas Carol" review. On the one hand, the Muppets Xmas Carol review was more fun and entertaining to watch; on the other hand, it is worth it to see how seriously messed up the live-action remake of How the Grinch Stole Christmas is and why the remakes of classic Dr. Seuss stories keep missing the mark.

Christmas is amazing that it put a war to a halt, however I wished the peace would last forever, but unfortunately it didn't. I bet that some of those people even fell about continuing the war because of the friends they made on Christmas are going to be killed by them after Christmas was over. And I feel so horrible for them because of it. It really shows how horrible war is and how good Christmas is.

yeah~ there's some pretty messed up things like audio and animation in this special, but to call it the worst Christmas Special is not one I'd give it. i mean.... you haven't seen the stuff Phelous or Cinema Snob look at every year. the horrid stuff shown is mind numbing. like here's a video to look into when you get the chance: Cinema Snob's review of "A Little Piece of Heaven" and here's a small synopsis for the film: Will Loomis is living with his mentally handicapped sister Violet after their parents have died. She wants a young child to play with, so Will drugs and kidnaps a child from the local orphanage, and later, when his sister says she doesn't like the boy and demands her brother gets her a girl, Will kidnaps a girl from an abusive home. I am not making any of this synopsis up and if you know Kirk Cameron then you'll know why it's oddly fitting he was in this thing.

(Eight years since the last one) I was always okay with it, but I might've gotten fired at Burlington because I didn't understand. I don't care if people say I didn't have a childhood, I was happy and she really was my Santa Clause because my one wish was leaving group home and it worked.
