Can this be ANYMORE ANNOYING?? Why call it a review you hardly touched it!! The damn premise of a review OF ANY INSTRUMENT IS HOW WELL IT PLAYS AND IT SOUND!! Why didnt even play a note??

@@MsCellobass Hello! Haha I hear you... For me the point of this review was the physical differences. I have many many examples of what the playing sounds like on my Instagram. Check it out there! :)

So teaching myself cello, mistake probably considering I barely read music. I am thinking about this cello for a few reasons one getting the frame strap I have a rather large brace on my leg, so holding cello with my knees is an issue, even letting it rest on the left side I can't tell if it is there or not. I also have issues sitting for long term, about 30 minutes I need to move a lot or get up. So looking at the review you posted I wanted more. What amp are you using for practice?
@Dorette_Roos2 жыл бұрын
Hi William! Yes this one will definitely be the best option for that. NS also has fretted cellos - which might be a great option for you? This is the amp I usually use: www.thomann.de/gb/dv_mark_ac_101h.htm Check out this one where I play on the instruments. kzbin.info/www/bejne/i4LTeZ2Gl9yqi5o&lc=Ugw5TbieAi-OHlknDsF4AaABAg Goodluck and enjoy the journey!

@@Dorette_Roos thank you for the reply I would go fretted but every bass player I know all 5 of them say they wish they could play without them so learning without and then maybe I'll go to frets one day as my ears fail

Hi, do you prefer this cello over the Yamaha?
@Dorette_Roos4 жыл бұрын
Hey Rommel! To be completely honest: no I do not. The NS has so many many amazing qualities but the most important thing for me is to feel comfortable (and play well) when I am performing in challenging circumstances. This requires me to rely on physical references and years of technique which comes more naturally with the Yamaha.
@Dorette_Roos4 жыл бұрын
Maybe if I had a body strap for the NS - it would change my answer :)

@@Dorette_Roos I appreciate the reply! Looking into buying an electric cello and the Yamaha is my first choice. One last question. In terms of sound, is one better than the other?
@Dorette_Roos4 жыл бұрын
@@rommelmaldia5365 Not really - both are great. The 110 probably has the most acoustic sound.

Can you sit and play it like a classical with that stand?
@Dorette_Roos4 жыл бұрын
Hey Tom Yes you can. It feels a bit different not having the instrument body touching your chest or knees, but it's quite comfortable to practice or play like that. I find it easier than standing with the NS.

@@Dorette_Roos Thanks. Also are they specialised strings? Or can you put acoustic strings on it? I am thinking to buy one for christmas!??

@@tomaseenx Oooh what an awesome gift! The NS comes with its own set of strings.

I have this strap. I like it. Maybe I'll do a video about it! The dude in the picture obviously does not play cello, but it is adjustable. It doesn't have to hang so low: thinkns.com/accessory/the-frame-strap-system/ UPDATE: here's a video with the strap: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fJfViJ-jl82BpZI Also, there should be two screws on the back of the cello, underneath the bridge. They adjust the height of the bridge. I've found that you need to adjust the low end (under the c-string) all the way up, and the high end (a-string) needs to be lowered afterward. I used a regular phillip's head screwdriver.

Thank you for the info! Yes you should do a video about it!

With the NS Double Bass the bridge is adjustable to give + or - space for finger board. The Boomerang strap fallows you like a steady cam tracks. I'm thinking of getting one it looks interesting for the the Double Bass.

That sounds awesome! I would really like to try the boomerang strap!

In another video you said this was the NXTa, that's the active version which means there's a battery. And here you say there is no battery.
@Dorette_Roos4 жыл бұрын
Yeah that is correct :) The NXTa Series features battery-free active output electronics. So you just plug in the quarter inch jack and play! No batteries, no turning on of the instrument, no charging. How cool right?
@jasonmelo19744 жыл бұрын
@@Dorette_Roos but I thought the A stood for active. That would require a battery. So is this the A version or just the NXT model?
@jasonmelo19744 жыл бұрын
@@Dorette_Roos ok, I just looked it up. It's a rechargable battery, so there is a battery, it just doesn't need to be replaced. They are calling it a capacitor.
@Dorette_Roos4 жыл бұрын
@@jasonmelo1974 Sorry for being unclear :) The cello I have is the NXT version - no battery.
@Dorette_Roos4 жыл бұрын
@@jasonmelo1974 Ah that would make sense for the NXTa version! The NS Website says "NXTa features a battery-free active output", but that would include the NXT with no battery and the active rechargeable one for the a version I assume.
