I did not know that Harry Potter was used to disrupt Disney movies not once, but twice! Thank you for the informative video!

Disney is very much messing up using a literal rival's franchise to sabotage their own films
@noahthe0tter6 күн бұрын
Yes, yes they are. Sadly I doubt Disney will ever return to 2D animation

Honestly, executive meddling is the bane of MANY a good thing... 2D Animation is apparently no exception. 😔
@noahthe0tter6 күн бұрын
It certainly does suck

Dang, I can't believe Disney is passing up on bringing back 2D animation twice even - shame on them!

Yeah, they really messed up here

fortunately, I have a passion project for Disney with that medium and Alan Menken IS THE HEART, SOUL, AND BACKBONE of that project that I am preparing on, essentially based on a musical japanese Disney attraction

I wouldn't pitch it to Disney, ngl. Find a studio that will actually respect your vision more
@scoutart15082 күн бұрын
@@noahthe0tter In case you didn't notice, it has already been confirmed a while back that the studio was open for future filmmaker to pitch new hand drawn movies, i just hope that nothing goes in vein when i am one of those people that is mostly inspired by the timeless glory of the golden past such as the renaissance, though i kind of wish that the sense of enthusiasm was permanent since the 1990s

The gimmick is getting stale, nowadays every major studio can make a gorgeous looking CGI movie, and Live Action adaptations are being stolen by Video Game movies. So I imagine that Disney wants to open another bottle of nostalgia that they have been carefully aging in their vault, the 2d Animation one. As much as I hate the sentiment of nostalgia, I must admit that I would be excited to see a classic 2d Disney Musical movie come out.
@noahthe0tter6 күн бұрын
@@MidoriNatsume indeed, I definitely would be excited to see that too

The real reason most animated studios abandoned 2-D animation art form is because of meddling, sabotaging studio heads who believe over inflated budgets equals massive box office success.

I’m so glad more people are talking about this film since despite it being one of my favorite films period, no one seems to remember its existence in favor of The Princess and the Frog. Hopefully one day we see the bear again in a major format, but I could be dreaming of a future that will never happen.

The Princess and the Frog is criminally underrated

@@noahthe0tterpersonally both The Princess and the Frog and Winnie The Pooh 2011 are immensely underrated and both should be considered for watching by the general public.

I feel like Disney didn't really need to resort to sabotage in order to make a 3d movie. They needlessly screwed over everyone who worked on Treasure Planet.

I liked Treasure Planet. I haven't watched any of the more recent live-action remakes, most are even pointless. Probably just a safe bet instead of 'new' stories.

They need to go back to Disney to the animation so far in the past decade, their Disney live action remake haven’t been going well
@camjewell77212 сағат бұрын
The sweet irony of this is that Treasure Planet features something atypical for the early 2000s, a strong female character, Amelia, paired with a competent male character, Doppler. Amelia is not a strong female character, TM like the central characters in every female reboot ever, and Doppler is actually intelligent and not a complete idiot. Again, atypical for the early 2000s where Jimmy Neutron, boy genius, is regularly outsmarted by regular girl Cindy Vortex. Conversely, one of the things the Harry Potter movies are criticized for is taking Ron’s smart moments from the books and giving them to Hermione for the purposes of creating a strong female character.

Disney is still doing this with their other movies (example being the new Lion King film that's out alongside the new Sonic movie), which is not a good idea for them at all (except some movies).

I think the Mufasa movie they were actually hoping to have success with, unlike this
