Krish-- modest... called herself a 6.. easy 9-9.5... and jessica..who rated herself a 3... 7.5-8.5... nearly every girl was giving herself a discount on looks, and i saw several 8-9+ thru many, and probably goes higher once you get to know them... personality adds to that.. and theirs is so delightfully reserved, and shy, in general.. with great, quick smiles.. tell all the gals, light or tan,, yes tan is pretty, but we ( Western ) dont really detract for NOT being tan..so dont be down on themselves for lack of a tan ( despite my hearing otherwise in Filipinas cultural outlooks on light or dark skin ).. lovely all of them. some though, really stand out.. any older sisters ??? hehehehehehe

No facial piercings, no ridiculous tattoos, no green and purple hair and the ability to express themselves in clear, intelligent sentences puts all of these women ahead of 99% of young western women. Clearly humble, those who ranked themselves the lowest were actually quite stunning.

Not meaning to just bash Western women, I have to say the trend is that they seem to ignore that a rating system is meant for judging purely on physical attributes and, therefore, they tend to weight it solely on personality and other assets/attributes that cannot be observed at a glance. Come to think of it, from what I've seen, Western women are often unrealistic in rating that way, too, giving themselves a lot more credit for being a much more attractive woman than they deserve.

I grew up around a lot of Filipinos(I went to Catholic school in the Bay Area CA), alot of my friends were Filipinos, and they were always a very welcoming group of people. They seemed to have very similar values to Americans(Americans in the 80's) so I always felt very comfortable amogst them and their families. It wasn't like "Oh, here's your WHITE friend". They seemed proud to be American, and were all trying their best to assimilate, which was not how alot of my other foreign friends cultures were. Filipinos are just great people overall!

And her looks as they stand are good. With just a little touch up here and there she could very much be a stand out. Add some fats and proteins with some targeted exercise and just her rating on her looks could make her model worthy. Then add her personality (the little that we have seen) and I would give her a 10 overall. But you can never tell a woman that or they might end up vain.

I'm married to an Indonesian woman, and it's the same for them, especially in terms of skin color. It took me 10 years to convert her to stop using skin whitening products, always saying, "If I wanted to be with a bule, I'd have married a bule!" I'm an American just married a phillipina last summer. When I was younger I always was attracted to physical beauty. Today as I am older and alot more mature I find physical beauty is not as important as inner beauty. I believe inner beauty brings out the physical beauty. You can be very attractive physically but if your a nasty person inside then that beauty outside is no longer attractive. So my opinion inner beauty equals to physical beauty. I had a Filipina student years ago (college in Missouri) who told me that in the Philippines she was not thought of as attractive due to her dark skin tone, among other things. Very humble but ambitious girl...and VERY beautiful. The male students had to be beat off with a stick, she was getting so much attention.

I find that many western men find non-western women very alluring and exotic. I was always attracted to darker-skinned African and Asian women. Filipinas tend to be very modest and self-effacing. I dated a lot of those types and finally married a very dark-skinned Nigerian woman.

Pea: I find it interesting that in a video about looks, I find out do much more about humility and being humble more than appearance. Those are the qualities that make Filipinas most attractive. What surprised me the most, is that when you asked the guys about the ladies looks, they still gave higher ratings than the women gave themselves. Beauty really is in the eye of the beholder, and anyone that be holding those women, would be holding on to some real beauty. It's much harder to keep things above water when your ship doesn't keep up with the rising cost of living. It won't be long before it gets so bad here where I live that I won't even be able to afford internet services, or even a package to keep my phone services going to make any calls, even for 911 emergency calls for medical aid.

All the women you interviewed were attractive. All of them under rated themselves. In China, being slightly overweight is considered a sign of wealth, as you can afford to eat well and I think that may have carried over to the Philippines. Tanned skin is associated with having to work in the sun, whereas untanned skin means you work inside or not at all. Tanned reads as peasant, fair as elite.

First of all... Love you Pea! Now, on to business... As a westerner, I really don't think you can rate a Filipina on looks alone. Doing so would be a great disservice to the many wonderful ladies in Phils. I have met Filipinas who look beautiful, but their conceited attitude makes me walk away. By the same token, I've met Filipinas with the most beautiful heart. These are the keepers. Looks fade, but her heart won't. You can keep the conceited ones... they're no better than western women.

I found it really interesting and really didn't understand why Ellah held her appearance at such a low level. The young lady is strikingly beautiful, bright, articulate, and probably of very high moral character. Thanks for doing this one, Pea! This "inside" look was fascinating... from both the female and male perspectives. I was pleasantly surprised at the reaction of the guys and the ratings they gave. There were definitely some heart skipping moments for some of them. 😍 Although, I generally knew what their preferences were, it was enlightening to hear and see it firsthand. Equally intriguing was the ratings the Filipinas gave themselves. While most were very tough on themselves, there were a few who were very confident about their beauty - more so than I expected. In short, it's good for us foreigners that the local men like the Filipinas that they do, because that leaves so many gorgeous women for us.

All the women were good looking, but the most important rating for me is the attitude. I would rather date a woman who is average in looks and has a good attitude, than a woman with model looks who has a nasty attitude. I watched many you-tube videos where average looking Western women were giving themselves all perfect 10 ratings. Most of them were average looking, but their attitudes were horrible. When you see how most Western women act these days, you can see why men are going to the Philippines in droves!

Hi Pea, I don't think it's possible for women to rate themselves as men see them accurately. Jasmine was the first of the 3 to hit the nail on the head when mentioning confidence as a factor in her own rating - this affects how both men & women rate themselves but of course has no bearing on an observer just looking at physical beauty. I also agree with Ellah that personality is a very big part of how attractive someone is - my opinion of how attractive someone is physically is open to moving up or down based on their personality. In addition I don't care how physically attractive a woman is - if she puts a cigarette in her mouth she goes straight to zero out of 10. P.S. From my brief and unscientific research it appears that dirty ice cream got its name as it is sold by street vendors - some sources suggest it was perhaps a humorous term initially.

Pea...you sure know how to put a smile on my face. Better than my morning cup of coffee, I watched this here in the US first thing on Tuesday morning. This was fascinating, to see how Filipinas I consider cute-to-beautiful rate themselves below 5. A life lesson I picked up many years ago was to assume that any beautiful girl I see is lonely, because men are afraid to approach them and are afraid of humiliation and rejection. I have a friend with a long track record of emotional abuse from Western women and their distorted view of their own 'worth'. I have finally convinced him to shop the Filipina market and often send him links to your channel which he always likes. It is so endearing and adorable to hear these cute ladies modestly assume that they are less attractive than they really are. Thank you for making my day

Hi, Pea!🥰 Interesting experiment. Self evaluation, especially using the number scale, is always difficult because it is closely connected with basic psychology 101. For example, a Filipina with self-confidence will generally rate her looks higher than a Filipina with low self-confidence would, even if the low-confidence Filipina is far more classically beautiful than the confident Filipina is. Then there's the perspective of men weighing in, i.e. Filipino men vs. Western men. I find it unsurprising that Western men will tend to rate the looks of Filipina's higher (I'm no exception) than Filipino men would--for a variety of reasons. The most significant reason being a lifetime of familiarity vs. relative newness. Just my two-cents, for what it's worth.🙂

I thought most of the girls were very realistic. A few underrated themselves. But its important to note that a lot of guys even the local guys there arent after "10s" Most guys just want attraction, then they are looking for other qualities: companionship, kindness, honesty, maybe shared interests. I think we mostly just want someone who will reflect back what we put into them.

Thanks for sharing this inspiring article, Pea. I think Filipino women rate themselves lower than what they are. As an older person, I think it's the character that's as important as good looks. Personally I'd rather have a not so good looking woman as a partner rather than a woman with good looks but arrogant or being "up herself".
