Thank you! You have helped me so much with grooming my 8 year old chinchilla Persian rescue. The comb that you recommended is the best as are the techniques you’ve shown us. At first, my Truman wouldn’t let me groom him at all. I finally had to have him shaved down. (I have no idea how he was taken care of in his previous life but he has hair like cotton balls and mats really fast. ) As his hair has grown back, I try to comb him once or twice a day and, so far, the mats are under control! I put on Clair de Lune which is just over 5 minutes long. At first, it was less than a minute before he started attacking the comb and trying to bite me. Yesterday, we got through the entire song without any objections from him! I can’t thank you enough for helping Truman and me so much. I miss seeing your smiling face on KZbin. You are wonderful! This is the best cat grooming video ever! I am going to start trying your technique for cats not liking to be groomed. I can groom half of my long haired cat! She has hyperthyroid which causes their fur to be in poor condition and to mat especially easy. Her left side had a cyst removed and she is more sensitive on that side so won't let me touch it very often. So it is now badly matted. I sneak and do what I can. I do use special scissors but don't go near the base of the mat. Love the idea if the thread picker - will get one! I was able to get a number of the mats yesterday as she was really relaxed (Red light therapy treatment which she loves). So will try to get most of the rest of them in the next week. Wish you were here as we don't have any good groomers that I have heard of for cats! I comb her all the time and she loves it - except for sensitive spots. Since I was able to remove so many mats, she now lets me lightly comb her left side now.

Wonderful advice. I love your attitude towards empowering your cat mums so they can have a positive relationship with the pets allowing them to groom their animals themselves and do away with your services. Not many groomers or businesses for that matter that would act in this selfless manner👌

Thank you. The thing is, there are so many cats that do require my help, so if I can empowere fur baby Mum's and Dad's to keep on top of their own babies coat, that leaves me free to get to the cats that really need help. There aren't enough cat groomers to go around.

I have a very big problem, I adopted my cat when she was eight months old. Supposedly, she spent most the whole life on the street. She’s very untrustworthy even if I bring her food, she will not let me pet her. She runs away from the food she runs away whenever you go to pick her up, and nothing hurts me more because I love this cat and here lays the problem, she needs to be trimmed. She’s matted in certain areas. My wife is one of those people that will try and pin the cat down. It’s causing a lot of problems between me and my wife I don’t know what to do with this cat we have her for over a year she’s very skittish with people, I’m afraid to bring her to a groomer. I’m afraid they’re going to hurt her or she’s going to hate me for taking her. What can I do? If I’m lying down in bed, that’s the only time she’ll curl up next to me, but she still won’t let me pet her, but she trust me enough to lay down with me. And I don’t wanna ruin that trust.

Thank you for the professional advice as well as for your wonderful instructive videos. I have a 17 yr old DMH who has not allowed me to groom her over the years. Last summer she was so matted her fur got shaved off. So I have begun the daily grooming regimen and we are making good progress. She has no mats at this time. I couldn’t have done it without all you have taught me😻

Yes, I started setting myself up in the same area, before breakfast feeding. For my male, like I said before, my female loves to be groomed. She’s momma’s girl. Yes, small sessions, and increasing my time. A veterinarian said I can used CBD oil. 2 drops helps to relax the cat. Bless you and thank you for your help.! From Texas, USA.

Really enjoying your channel! I discovered it while trying to figure out what to do about matting on my Son’s cat who is being taken care of by my Mother until he is out of Grad school. He is not an easy cat and I’m a cat lady! I’m a hairstylist so I thought I might try my clippers to whiz some of the mats off but afraid my human hair clippers may cut him. I plan on getting your suggested tools for grooming. Thanks again for your lovely videos

Wonderful advice. I'm trying your suggestions on my badly matted Persian Muffin. Just ordered the comb and zoom brush. My vet will only groom/shave Muffin if she is anesthetized, which I refuse to do. Thank you for this video as there are no cat groomers in my area and I've been struggling to keep Muffin mat free as she gets very spicy when I try to comb her. From watching your videos, I've learned that I've been using the wrong grooming tools and I've only been grooming her when I see a mat.

Have you had a uno uno fight yet? Cats like a good old punch up sometimes to be trusted bestie freinds. My cat loves me to bits, we stalk each other sometimes, rough each other up and run away. Actualy done this with all my cats. Appart from one that was bat poo crazy. small long haired tabby we called Olly. It was a monster.
