„Survival minecraft is here for the journey, not for the destination“, that quote summarises everything quite nicely, thank you, fwhip, for taking the time to record this videos, I think its important, that someone talks about these topics, they are overlooked too often.

I don't think anyone except for Tango can make something like Decked Out. 😅 But you can still see so much inspiration in the community afterwards.

I think I've never felt discouraged by you or any other minecrafter doing megabuilds or something like that, for the most part I felt motivated to at least try to do something. Even though I usually don't get past a "build a starter house and kill the dragon" phase, right now I'm very motivated to do one project and I steadily work my way to finishing at least one part of the project. I feel especially inspired by your style of building and decorating your world and I want to do something similar, something lively and lush, how I can describe it. Thank you for your time and effort, that goes into every single build, it is very entertaining and inspiring!!!

I have loved seeing your recent "I think this build will be fun" videos with smaller builds. That's the kind of building I like doing in my own survival world. As a casual player I don't have the time for megabuilds but it's definitely more of a draw to me to see the little details and more approachable builds. What is your favorite build of yours so far? Mine is a little jungle shack I built as a temporary home when I was out exploring and gathering jungle resources. I don't even see it that often! But it's my favorite mini-build.

I must be in the minority where I watch more for the houses and buildings that slowly make up the city and world and yeah I appreciate the work and time the big builds take but they don’t really do anything for me. I find myself tending to seek out more creators who have a slow world building approach as it tends to be more relatable because yeah I’m not building mega builds lol. fWhip you, Sausage and Gem have all been huge inspirations and I couldn’t be happier I ever stumbled upon you. You all have become more our entertainment in the house rather than tv. Watching old series and enjoying and looking forward to current and future ones.

I felt the same way about youtuber’s big projects. Then I realized they have the time to spend on it and I don’t. Also I am ok with using mods that save me time like the tree chopper mod. I also don’t feel like I need to cover all my redstone builds, as I have no time and can watch the KZbinrs do it. My worlds are ugly because I don’t have time, and I am ok with that.

It seems to me that out of a few Minecrafters, you are the top one who has begun to balance big projects with smaller ones. And I really appreciate that. I do like to watch smaller channels, who take it slow and are not about building giant farm after giant farm, but rather building out their world and exploring in the process. Especially because I like the survival aspect of the game as much as building up villages and towns. You trying to find a balance and find what makes the game fun for you is something I hope more established players would try to do.

I totally agree with what you said about starting out now. It seems impossible especially with these mega builds coming out every day. I think it's important to remember that we started doing this for fun! So if your channel doesn't blow up over night don't worry, keep at it and you'll find your niche!

Couldn’t agree with this more! I think the days of newer creators blowing up over night has passed but I think us smaller creators that have fun just playing the game and find ways to keep having that fun will find our audiences in our own time 😊

Comment in regards to the first question/comment: i think part of why i watch content creators like you is for the motivation and inspiration. Recognizing i don't have the time/energy/talent to do what you do didn't mean i can't learn and get there. My builds have become more ambitious and beautiful as a result of watching people like you and Gem. My red stone has improved from watching Tango and Doc. My story telling and exploration has improved from watching Scar, Grian, and Pix. I'm still early in my journey, and this is not my full time job. So I'm just excited to accomplish anything and everything, enjoying the journey of getting better!

fwhip is the reason why i actually started posting videos. was on one of his livestream and got inspired n said ''fu** it'' and started. used to think ''i need to learnediting an make really good content'' or ''i have to build big supercool builds'' and stuff but i realized just playing having fun is more than enough. Its hard, its a real challenge, i spend hours editing and days recording just to get like no views, BUT thats what makes it fun. Its like a big game, i can take the fast route and just do the eye-candy fastpaced clickbaity videos to speedrun to ''success'', or i could take the slower route, have fun, do what i wanna do the way i wanna do it, stress free from expectations and the ''content content content'' mindset, get carried away with sidequests and indulge in the journey. Been posting almost every week now for almost 2 months, next video is about to be a big one too (Mega-Base build), if theres anyone in the same boat hmu, i like checking other ppls channels out

1:12 Thank you for addressing that comment BTW. Comparing myself to folk online regarding building is something I struggle with. I'm not even talking on the KZbin front, just on the building front. I found a similar thing in drawing and knitting. I think it's a wider problem with social media. I don't have a solution to the problem either. It's complicated. I can just say, the KZbin meta is not limited to Minecraft or even to KZbin. Instagram knitting community has the same issue. People do entire two hour podcasts once a week with like a jumper, a scarf and a hat, that's crazy productive in a single week 😂 I got from your response that one should perhaps try to focus on their strengths not on their weaknesses. Everyone has strengths even if it's hard to see it ❤

As someone pretty new to the game and even newer to the KZbin side of it, it can be discouraging sometimes comparing myself to creators that are full time creators, but what I have found is that when I play the game the way I want to and build the things i want to build it’s still my favorite thing! Do I use people like you, Joel and sausage as inspiration? Absolutely! I just try to take what I learn from you guys and put it into a scale I’m comfortable with and what I can fit into the time frame I’m able to work with in my life. I guess my advice to anyone playing Minecraft is just have fun with it! “Comparison is the thief of joy”. If you’re playing the game and enjoying what you’re doing, then that’s good enough!

"Given the opportunity, players will optimize the fun out of a game" When my friend shared that line with me, it changed everything about how I think about playing games. If you look back on your time playing a game, would it mean much to you if you did a technically impressive job if you didn't feel good about it? What you should optimize is your fun, which can come from optimizing certain aspects of the game or it can come from playing without expectations for yourself.

On the music thing, I wish mojang would let us create our own music disks easily. Using the shards from the ancient city we could create blank ones and either lets us record music of juke boxes on them or if we rename the disk to match a file name in a folder it would attach the audio to it. I kinda like the first, being able to take these amazing jukebox music things and capture that to be heard again on a disk sounds amazing to me

Fun in survival minecraft is more fun for me to watch. I like how you have been bouncing around to the sites or projects that interest you. and how your mountain became kinda zen instead of a must be all done chore. You don't have to run around and do it all in one day (or episode). I like the 30-40 minute videos, but I am (supposed) to be relaxing.. So When you relax and have fun, I relax. Thanks. The Pillager Place was fantastic.

I recently realised I been playing Minecraft for over 12 years... And thats crazy... Of course there is a learning curve for new players and of course there are always going to be impressive arts that I could compare myself to... But I wont... Infact I could I used to be a creative mapmaker for several building teams but legit I dont want to... I had my fair share of all of that and all in all I prefer just slapping some things together and having a calm world... The thing Im hooked on right now is rather creating custom Data Packs that allow players to have a whole new experience in survival... From adding new tools and equipment like Netherite Horse armor to adding a new difficulty that makes all gamemodes much harder but also more fun in the long run... I enjoy making custom menus that float over blocks where you can slap items in and just change how they perform... From adding Amethyst texture to them to creating tools trims... (Honestly tool trims is one of my best projects so far and Im excited to release it in the future, designed with chatGPT and 2 other designers I love the look we gave to the items) Its not about where I go with my projects, its about the journey there and what I do with the things... I'm slowly transitioning to an actual game developer/designer but I wont do that unless I got a stable position in life, but my dream is to create a game that makes it fun to explore areas that you already visited and create unforgettable memories with story and progressive world design... Getting there is still a long way but I'm pushing towards it with all I've got... And I love it...

i do agree with you that the social media in general have put the direction of video game lets plays in a bad place and i am glad that you are aware of it. To be completely honest i've started watching you in the old building with fwhip series which i absolutely love btw, and i had noticed your first shift in youtube content right around the second season of hardcore, and although i did love the world you were building, i was less a fan of how you showcased your process, with everything becoming progressively quicker and faster paced. That's also why i had mixed feelings with this season of hardcore for a long time because i struggled to accept this style of editing and i was scared that the season would only last for like 20 episodes because lets be honest only the few first episodes are popular in a minecraft lets play, afterwards it becomes really hard to keep the audience entertained. But, I am really pleased that you decided to shift again in your style to be more true to your personality, and let me tell you we can feel it through the videos, it becomes more personal thus more interesting. I sincerely hope that you don't lose too much viewers with this new improved direction because you truly deserve some praise for what you do and now it feels amazing to watch you fly through all of what you have built and seeing it all come together. Thats what kept me hooked with building with fwhip, and it makes me love this season so much.

The first question - this is Minecraft version of "Matt Mercer Effect" discussion from TTRPG community. Never made any sense to me, except in the context you mentioned - becoming a pro MC youtuber and building audience from scratch for a new project. For personal gameplay for fun? That's like saying you can't have fun playing basketball yourself, because you'll never be as good as NBA players you can watch on TV.

The funny thing about new papyrus is i reaaally didnt like it at first, i kinda loved the long path episode and the river/mesa transformation but when it got to the city it felt really unnatural to me like the series suddenly stopped and a weird new desert thing popped out of nowhere but towards the end when you were building the docks and stuff i kinda settled more into it and got used to it and was back to being really excited for the new projects and stuff and then you went back to the main bit again and sorta stopped with new papyrus just as i was getting into it xD But it doesn't matter and idc, honestly its just been a blast watching you have fun and enjoy what you're making, keep doing the hardcore stuff; it's looking great :D

Ever since they took down your world after the fiftieth episode, I've been going into many of the builds and noticed that there's no interior anywhere. I understand that after a hard project, working on an episode, you don't have the will or the patience to imagine and create an interior with some images, but I have a fun challenge for you. The challenge is to create an interior of your choice for one, two or more images in each subsequent episode. In this way, with a little bit of work, he would create an interior for all the images and create a story for them. I think it would be interesting for viewers. I would be grateful if you would even consider or try to start this challenge of mine. You are my favorite youtuber and I think you are the best minecraft builder. Your buildings are very beautiful, as is the entire world. The only thing I would ask you to do is to make a copy of the world after each episode in case you die in the wild, and after each episode delete the previous copy and replace it with a new one. Because if you die, you can give us the last world download without ruining everything you built, for example, between the 80th and 81st episodes. Sorry that this is quite a long comment.
