One important option not mentioned is that you can make a void vote. If you make a void vote, it tells the politicians that you care enough about the politics and exercising your rights enough to vote, but none of the candidates are good enough for you. It is a way to participate and have a voice without throwing away your vote, whereas if you do not vote at all you may as well be invisible to the politicians.

Interesting, but your bias is showing. Your choice of language clearly points in a direction. Also, what if all three points fail. What if you don't like the candidate, what if their policies are equally distasteful and their teams (parties) have both become so unhinged that they cannot see how divisive and unreasonable they have both become.

Vote to lessen evil. For example, we have one party that is pro abortion and the other major party is pro choice. Neither party is pro life but one party is clearly better than the other on this issue. They are both distasteful but not equally so.

Great WWYS with logical points! Don't get cynical, folks; God is still very much alive and working even in these crazy times. Look for His Truth being upheld in policy and person.
@tompotter4451Ай бұрын
It’s interesting that you mention policies as one of your three points, but not character. If a candidate is so lacking in character that they can’t be trusted, then I assert that their policies also can’t be trusted and therefore are of little use to make a decision. Historical case in point: Aaron Burr.

This might be fair advice if we got to select the candidates, but we don't. The Democrat and Republican primaries are a sham. The Democrats didn't even bother pretending to hold a full primary for their presidential nominee in the 2024 election. Without a proper nomination process, we only have an illusion of choice. Rank choice ballots would help by adding pressure for each party to nominate a popular candidate, but that's why the Republican and Democrat authorities are against it. Abstention at least sends the message that the selected candidates are unacceptable. If we keep voting for one of these duds, we'll just keep getting the bad choices we're getting now.

RANK VOTING!!! Yes. Now how do we get the two power hungry parties to relinquish enough power to bring that into being?

In the presidential election, we have a track record for both. One we had peace and prosperity only upset by a once-in-100 year pandemic. The other we have declined into a clown-show and have inflation and fear of war all around us. We are not voting for a pet. I want a pit bull and not a geriatric golden retriever.

I don't believe either of the candidates are any good. They are in it for the money. When your poor or disabled they don't care about you. I get tempted not to vote anymore. Because I don't like either one of them. I am disapointed with all of them. So I'm opting out of either being Republician or Democrat.

This time it's really about who you think will cause less damage when they riot. If you think the Left is more destructive, then vote for the Democrat. If you think the Right is more destructive, then vote for the Republican. It's a lose-lose for the American people this time. The government is too corrupt and the donors own the politicians. Tens of billions of dollars are being spent on campaigns.

@@Crich_Leslie, there is a time for that…the Primaries. Run for office yourself if you are honest, or encourage and support someone you know who is honest to run. We can all acknowledge that there is no such thing as a perfect candidate, for there is no such thing as a perfect person. Elections, and this video, are set up to have one make a choice between the previously elected representatives of the given teams. This is the way our state and federal constitutions are set up.
