Finally, realistic and honest publicity about AGI progress! I love this channel. You're right in saying it's ridiculous and paranoid to be afraid of AI. In it's current form (narrow AI), I agree there's basically zero chance of that happening. However true AGI (artificial general intelligence), whatever and however long it's gonna take us to get there, is just a different thing entirely. Not being concerned about that at all, frankly shows a very narrow way of thinking or perhaps a serious lack of understanding for the concept of artificial general intelligence. It might take us a few hundred years or we might never create it, but it's just incredibly ignorant and close minded to state there is no possible risk what so ever and all concerns are paranoia.

I just want to push that a lot of these robots are kind of gimmicky. Sophia especially is 100% scripted. Look up the chess robot that fooled the world if you don't believe me, humans have been doing this for a long time. But this robot is genuinely amazing. I like how the developer explains things in ways that a lay person would understand.

I think robots should not be completely humanized or made in such a way that they could injure or kill humans because if ai robots starts to think that someone he,she met was not nice or very bad then probably he,she could kill or injure him,her. Hence they should not be allowed to behave on any possible bad reasons and impact on humans. They should be given any physical chance if getting over top of humans. If one of them turned against us then all of them could turn against us too. We should be very cautious about there physical abilities.

If robots can take over the job of health care aides in a the nursing home/LTC, I say let them. More and more hca/psw/cna/whatever-title-of-the-moment are retiring injured, crippled for life, some now using a walker. I've heard of some retirees returning to the nursing home as residents! Some are worse off than the residents they used to took care of FFS!

Problem is you assumed Sophia was constructing it's own sentences but humans wrote the clever responses you were impressed by. Also they hide a lot of human work that goes into directing AGI because if left on it's own, would not make sense to us. We would realize exactly how there is no conscience in the computations.
