How do we know far-away galaxies still exist today? | Questions/Answers | [Urdu/Hindi]

Light has a finite speed and distances in astronomy are huge. So how do we know if the stars and galaxies whose light we are seeing today still exist?

Well! Jordan Peterson says that high IQ is very important in high complexity fields like physics or maths and high IQ score is best predictor of success in such fields. Moreover, IQ is just predetermined by your genes so you can't do much about it. However, Prof. Salman Hameed can guide you better in this regard.

No - IQ is a deeply problematic measure. Over the years, its use has been discredited quite a bit. But yes, you need to work on physics and math for astronomy. And that has a lot to do with hardwork, dedication and perseverance. Good luck!!

Aslam u alakium.. salman bhai.. We know that the photon particle doesnt experience time. This means the photon particle on sun created and landed on the earth in the same time. So how can we say 8 min light distnace from sun and we are getting 8 min older picture of sun.. Could you please bring explain this concept. Thanks

No - telescopes can simply make things clearer. The Sun is the only star for which we have to use special telescopes...

Good point Parminder. But as you can imagine, all light is not passing close to a black hole. In fact, black holes are not significant when it comes to the universe as a whole. So we get information without such time dilation... :)
