I laughed and I cried at the same time with this video. I was crying almost every night because the disappointment I feel to not being able to have a quite family worship at home. I’m a single twin boys mom and one is autistic , and I could relate a lot with the description given here about worship time in my family. My kids are 3 years old and sometimes worship family is a real mess. Trying to control the winning , the throwing toys, the pooping ... you name it .... but I do realize that my kids loveeeee the worship songs and the praises. And suddenly my boy who is autistic ( non -verbal) has started to speakkkkk . He says ... “ God is good!!! Hallelujah. And I believe it’s because our worship family time together. When God is honored , miracles happen !!!

Yoko Delgado God bless you so much! It’s a good to see another sister in Christ rejoicing through the suffering tough moments. I too have an autistic sister and to hold bible studies at home with my family is sometimes nearly impossible as she is constantly interrupting and such. I encourage you to stay strong! I read this to my mom who was pleasantly surprised to read your comment about your autistic boy. We are praying for you and the family! God bless

Love how he describes family worship as real family worship. It’s messy and definitely a challenge with kids, but God provides the grace for his people to gather as families to worship Him.

Thank you!!! I am having such a wonderful time teaching my son and nieces. They read children's Jesus devotionals. We sing. They watch children bible stories. These all open up conversations. It is so good. We prayed one evening before bed and it ended up being at least 15 minutes. You will be surprised how many people they want to pray for especially their classmates. Their ages are 6, 7 and 9. I encourage everyone to do the same with their little ones.

Thank you for this insightful message. We have just started doing our family devotion during this time of quarantine. We don't even pray as a family during mealtimes. That's why I consider this season as a blessing and really a gift from the Lord. It has been a struggle for the first few nights since I thought that I always have to think of special activities to get the attention of my siblings, and there were awkward moments especially that praying is not normal in our family. I can truly relate on the part of asking for them to put their phone down and they would start laughing in the middle of the devotion. Really awkward. Thank you for reminding me that the change won't happen overnight, and that God will fulfill His plans in His most perfect time. He is so gracious and I believe that He also uses this season to prepare me for my own family. I just came across your channel yesterday and you have been a blessing. Thank You for these videos. Keep it up and God bless! ❤❤❤

Wow I can relate to this!! Thank you for making me feel normal. Our family worship time is so important to me as my children are 11 and 8. Often times it doesn’t feel powerful but I know that it is bearing fruit in all of our lives.

Thank you for this great presentation! A genuine encouragement and endorsed a teaching session I gave in our churches Men's Ministry. Family Worship is so necessary, and is not easy, thus it's important to be real about the distractions and disruptions of children laced with the encouragement of long-term benefits.

Hi Southern Seminary and Dr. Donald Whitney, thank you for sharing! We are making a video in Chinese to encourage other Chinese Christian parents to keep doing family worship even when kids get messy or not paying attention, your video was a great encouragement for our own family worship! Can we use part of your video in ours? We want to share how we got inspired and encouraged by your sharing.

Pastor, Everything you have mentioned is good and useful for everybody. But one thing regarding Holy Communion can you clarify why can’t we take part the HC in home as a family. The head of the family ie father is the chief priest for that family. Bible says according to New Testament now all we are made us kings and priests ( Rev 1:6). In the first century the Believers partook Holy Communion in their houses also. Acts 2:46 “So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart,”. Even in the Old Testament Passover was observed in every house the night before the freedom from Egypt. Exodus 12:3 “Speak to all the congregation of Israel, saying: ‘On the tenth of this month every man shall take for himself a lamb, according to the house of his father, a lamb for a household.” FOR THE PAST TWELVE YEARS I AM PARTAKING LORDS TABLE IN MY HOME WITH MY FAMILY.

Please teach more on breaking bread and the cup you mentioned here. I nor ally break bread at home, and at church too, is that unacceptable. How can we say it is only for congregation. Can we give in hospitals, which are the circumstances/places,. I will really appreciate it. Thank you so much.

I have a question. My wife, our newborn and I currently live in a place where we have, as yet, been unable to find a Biblical local congregation. Is it permissible for me to administer the Lord's Supper to my family (my wife and myself, not our son, until he chooses to be baptized of course) in our home in the frame of our Lord's Day family worship?

And break bread. Soooo many churches don't have communion every week as they did in Acts. I do not understand this.
@felicias84754 жыл бұрын
I disagree with him when he speaks of communion y family takes communion at least once a week together. The church is within us . We are the church not brick and mortar. But read pray and sing . Hallelujah Jesus is coming.

As one family one can pray together or discuss about Bible verses. But only those who worship alone experience God. Never touch Bible when as female you are in your menstruation cycle. Or else every word you read becomes aa sin against you anot not blessing.

You know, I found this shallow. I disagree that families cannot serve communion, and I disagree that one will walk away the way this man describes wondering "what did we really do here"? And 10 minutes? We are new at this as well, and I tell you what we are enjoying some rich times in the word, worshipping and praying and I have 5 children aged 16 and under. It's a mindset and a posture. I'm sorry, but this video was not produced for a time as this, clearly.
