Ok. I hate the whole "woke " thing. Its virtue signaling and it pisses me off! I was told by a 17 year old black girl that I have no right to an opinion on matters concerning latinos because I am half white. And being half white, I am part of " the problem" whatever that means. I been told that since I believe in traditional roles and want to personally be a wife and mom that I am being abused, also, cherry on top: I am autistic but was called ableist for making a joke about my own experience as autistic person because I " pass for normal". YES I DO RIVER , PEACE, WHATEVER THE FUCK YOUR NAME IS, BECAUSE I WAS MISTREATED FOR BEING MYSELF ALL MY FUCKING LIFE!!

The entire PC movement isn't about gaining respect....it's about controlling what others do. Have you noticed that what is or isn't PC changes? Just when you think you know what's OK, they change it to make you wrong so they can label you "sexist" "racist" "homo-phobe" "trans-phobe" "patriarchy", "oppressor" and say it's about "privilege". Your intentions don't matter...they will take offense. It makes them feel superior. Oh, and their rules for YOU.....don't apply to THEM.

Isn't "Cultural Appropriation" just people from two cultures sharing good ideas, concepts, products and customs? Shouldn't that be the goal?! I mean, I like the fact that things like "The golden rule", vaccines, calculus and yoga pants were adopted by my culture. And in exchange for some very brutal and primitive customs. This concept is the centerpiece of what makes Japan a great nation. 🇯🇵. Let's stop dividing and start coming together. That's true "Progressivism"!
@ANYSHOWdotCOM7 жыл бұрын
Joefest99 Hi, I can't speak for every culture but there is a difference between Cultural Appropriation and Cultural Misappropriation. Cultural Misappropriation happens when people ignorantly exploit and disrespect highly respectable cultural status/religious items or practices/history of oppression. Cultural Appropriation happens everyday and is inspiration from other cultures to learn and grow together.
@DanielGonzalezC7 жыл бұрын
Ah I see you're white. Go on, please.
@Joefest997 жыл бұрын
Daniel González I'm not white, I'm Jewish and Egyptian (African). Besides that, saying someone is white isn't a reply to the substance of a comment - it's a dodge.
@mikahcalp92835 жыл бұрын
Appropiation is taking from another culture without giving credit or allowing the initial culture to benefit, an example would be when white artists sample style, language, music from black artists and profit as though it was their original intellectual property. Their is no "sharing," just stealing. More often due to their whiteness they profit even more than the original artist who often are scrutinized for exhibiting the same style, language, music etc.

Boi A no being woke is not a joke it actually has a whole meaning being it. In other words it mean you are “awake” to what’s going on around you in the world/government , especially to the minority communities, and you try to educate yourself and others around you to do better. Example- in the matrix when neo woke up and saw the real world around him.

This feels so forced, I thought it was tongue in cheek at first... I guess it's cool that people are trying to bridge their perceived divide of race/gender/etc, but it's also kind of racist/sexist/manipulative to assume there is a divide. There's a difference between fighting for equity/equality & creating divisive thoughts (so they'll perceive a divide) that allows people to ego trip about how great they are for pointing out/creating said divide. I guess people can't tell the difference anymore.
