In the late 90s we had a contract with Hoechst Celanese in Dallas. We fumbled through it with "Ho-chest", but oddly, the representatives at the company called themselves "Hoke Celanese".

Unfortunately, the company does not exist any more, but the location is still pronounced that way. ;-)

I came here because of this case "HOECHST PHILIPPINES, INC., Petitioner, v. FRANCISCO TORRES and the Honorable PROCORO J. DONATO, Judge of the Court of First Instance of Isabela, Respondents."

DAPI
@martinjames42934 жыл бұрын
To me it sounds more like "Hurkst" than "Hookst". What does "DAPI" mean?
@kll.23673 жыл бұрын
DAPI (4′,6-diamidino-2-phenylindole) is a blue-fluorescent DNA stain that is similarly common as Hoechst stain
