The "real" me is so confident. The TMS PDP me always trying to keep a front up . I've isolated myself from so many people. I'm gradually leaving that persona behind because I know I am safe.

My memories are most helpful here. I remember hiking to Window Rock in the Superstition Mtns. I went up the mountain with great agility and then down the mountain passing everyone..as sure footed as a deer. I could sew and cook and clean again..like it was nothing. And do Yoga again..which I do but more limited.

Hi Dan. I see myself as ok not sick. Martin doesn't see me as ill neither do my friends. Corine also didn't see me as sick. She understood TMS. Before TMS i saw myself as being sick. My body is ok however had a mini operation this morning not nice. Has to heal now so in a couple if days will be fine again. Thought i would not be scared but i was. And God yes i am looking forward to a life without these sparkling symptoms even if they reduce to like 80%. Again i am not afraid if my symptoms and never ever freak out anymore because it is pointless and it will increase my symptoms more. Ok love you Dan and everyone else a big hug and smile from me see you all tomorrow 😘😘😘

I asked everyone if they could stop asking me how I was & explained why a long time ago. I even asked others to refrain from talking about their own symptoms to me. This has taken a while for people to catch onto...but slowly the habit is changing. Just have to keep teaching my brain not to do the same!! You have a wonderful day.💞

Finally got wifi back! Not sure if it was you, but I heard someone tell the story that Michael Phelps would visualize his swim races. During a race, his goggles failed. He still won because he had rehearsed that particular heat so many times! I absolutely love that story! When I taught myself to sit again, I used graded exposure and visualization. I was very quickly back to sitting for work, which really helps with concentration. Remembering who I was before PDP/TMS also helped. Looking at photos I’d take after exercising or out on hikes reminded me that I am strong and capable.

Yesterday I spilt hot oil on my foot, the speed with which I got my soft trainer and sock off (& up in the kitchen sink lol)was phenomenal 😂 . No pain Went to bed abd then the foot pain kicked in, wtf. got up this morning washed my hair, leant awkward and felt my side back muscles twist n cramp and I yelped (I actually thought of you Dan). Have got out up the park and my back still twingeing but I'm convinced this is PDP. My late sister's birthday too, so I think an overload of emotions and worries have triggered it. Sat crying in the car & then made myself start walking in the sunshine, being grateful. The only label we all only need is, "human".

Very helpful video xx. I asked myself "I know it's difficult to see my life without symptoms, but if I could, what would that look like?" Mind took me to floating on a lilo in a hot country, then I said "I know this is possible for me." That was enough to start the ball rolling as I had previously found it difficult to see an image at all. 🌈

I totally understand all that you said but trust me you are in the right place here with Dan & this wonderful group of people. Everyone going through this are some of the most courageous people I have ever come across... sometimes just waking up & moving into the day is one of the bravest things we can do. Little steps really do add up. Keep hold of your wish...this is the real you reminding you, you can do this. I was where you are & slowly, slowly with implementing all Dan advocates, support from this exceptional group & a lot of picking myself up & keep moving forward, I am walking more confidently down this road of recovery. It's a learning process & it may not be linear or like anything you have experienced before...but it's doable. I am Sending you so much love.💜

How do I see myself being, doing. More time for life! I would be able to make my Heavenly Father bigger by all that I am and do. Serving, loving, caring for others, dancing, gardening, hiking. Possibly working, what I don’t know. Didn’t pursue ideas for couldn’t. I would be happy, calm, not running to food.

Good morning Dan and pain free you community. Hopefully my comment will stay today. Recently, several of them have disappeared. I love this question, Dan and I will journal about it. “ I know it’s difficult for me to see myself without pain, but if I could, what would that look like?” First thing that comes to mind is, when I find myself in a situation, where I have to stand for a long period of time I will not fear or worry about it, because there’s nothing wrong with my body. Love to all 🥰🌸🌈

Great teaching Dan .. I needed to hear that. My friends and family see me as healthy one. I see myself as one with sore hip 😮, but after MRI I know the reason and nothing serious. My tendons will heal and my hip muscles get stronger. Need to stop 🛑 the fear, sooth my nervous system .. less fear and attention. Thank you 🙏 Wishing you and everyone a happy, healthy day 🥰🌼🌸

Remember, it’s only perceived danger - you are ok. A panic attack can’t hurt you-something Dan says a lot. It’s not fun to be in it, but it will pass. Breathe deeply and use those calming words. Listen to music, read, watch tv for some distraction. This will pass!

Can we change the way people see us? When I’m not well most of the time then naturally everyone sees me as the sick one. What to do?
@Inge508
@Inge508 Жыл бұрын
I understand you so well! I was SOO sick that I couldn’t hide it anymore.. and you know what.. I think you don’t need to hide you feeling unwell because that’s the way you feel now.. gradually as you make some progress you will feel better and radiate that too.. then your environment will be so happy for you and that will boost your self- image and healing even more.. I work very hard in silence at my situation but my family worries less now because they believe me if I say I’m on the right path now.. hope this helps you a little! Have a happy healing ❤️‍🩹
