Dear Revathi Purushothaman. I am an Associate Professor at the University of Southern Denmark, and is right now i the proces of rewriting a textbook for our engineering education about metallurgy. I would like very much, if it was posible to use one of your pictures of a mild steel not on a brass bolt. Will you give me access to do that. Thank you in advance.

You may use it sir. My advanced wishes to you to complete the book successfully.

What is the situation if S.S Plates are joined by threaded bolts which are made by M.S material and zinc coated.
@RevathiPurushothaman3 жыл бұрын
Zinc will act as sacrificial anode and all the zinc has corroded, mild steel will start corroding. All will happen in the presence of a cortisone medium

Mam i actuaaly wants to ask..who is the discoverer of corrosion? Name of the person who first gave the term corrosion..hope you understand my question
@RevathiPurushothaman6 жыл бұрын
The credit cannot be given to one scientist. But it was first identified in 1788 and first published in 1819. If you are truly interested, read the content in this link corrosion-doctors.org/Corrosion-History/Theories.htm

Even moisture in the atmosphere can act as a corrosive medium. It depends on the surroundings.
