The idea of roar and hyper voice being used for echolocation is very interesting. The pokedex entries call Hydreigon 'brutal' and says it attacks anything that moves, this could be because it uses the hyper voice on anything that moves to ''see'' it better!

So a small thing to note is on deinos plushies they do have eyes when you flip up their hair on the front of their head

I think the the red things on Deino’s fur are wounds if I remember the Pokédex right. I’m not saying your hypothesis is wrong though. Maybe the “nose” it has as a Deino and Zweilous are actually pits. That could also explain where the additional heads come from. Assuming they can only breathe through their mouths, maybe having more heads allows them to intake more oxygen. Then with Hydreigon having no brains in its arm heads, it doesn’t need extra oxygen going to those 2 heads which gives it enough oxygen intake to have the energy to fly. Maybe that’s why Zweilous can’t fly yet and instead just gets fat, since it needs oxygen for both brains it doesn’t have enough oxygen intake to allow for flight. But hey, that’s just a theory, a pokology theory.

Ik im also 7 months late but i think the reason why zweilous is so big is because they eat a lot to feed both brains. Respectfully hydreigon’s line could sill breath thru their nose and still have the pits in the same place.

i think hydreigon can just straight up see and just leaves the caves to hunt for prey as the dex says they rampage across villages and devour everything
