120 hours seems like a MASSIVE requirement!! Here in germany licensing is pretty strict, but i think its only like 20-25 hours (around 30 lessons)

But as far as I know those hours are not driving lessons in that sense but rather just driving with a parent or someone that has a license. During that time you have to put a sign on the car letting others know you are a learner (L) edit: plus you have to keep in mind that if we drive 30h we can cross our whole country lengthwise while 30h driving in down under will get you to the next town :D (i'm just saying that those hours are collected over a period of (in the case of some fellows of mine) multiple years in addition to generally greater distances so yeah, comparing our licensing processes is not as straight forward)

…WHAT?!?!???! AND YOU GUYS HAVE THE BLOODY AUTOBAHN TOO! …tbf tho there’s just so many fucking re****s in australia the hour limit is stupid cause there’s still so many terrible drivers. Here in nsw I’m not very good at driving manual cause I’ve just started learning it, I keep messing up hyperfixating on the gears and get worried about messing up then I panic and do mess up…apparently I’m able to pass my fucking test already tho so like (I’ve been told this a lot by my instructor) the test is soo fucking easy it doesn’t matter if we had to do 1000 hours because the test is such a low bar Edit: hold on, your lessons aren’t even-wait a second. In Germany you can’t drive in your own car with your parent or something and jot down those hours in a logbook they give you? The way you wrote that makes it seem like you have 30 (lesss than 1 hour apparently?) driving lessons with instructors and then you test which might be a lot better if we lessened the hour requirement and made it necessary to only drive with an instructor for like 20 lessons or something…but it’s so much money for driving instructors the government would have to change so much about the driving license and tests stuff

In Switzerland the law got changed in 2021 so now you can do your test with an automatic and be allowed to drive manual which I think is stupid...

The only way you can do thst in Australia is if your work vehicle is manual like a trade ute or something
@McGeraet10 сағат бұрын
In germany most people getting their test now do that too.. taking the automatic test and doing like a few driving lessons with the manual to be allowed driving it..
