How does ONE MAN WORKING ALONE achieve so much?

Uncle Leo's Garage Ep1 - Illias doesn't shy away from anything. That's why this one man band workshop features cars as diverse as an Alfa Spider to a Pontiac Bonneville. On the day I visited, there was a Ford Fairlane, a Ford Fairmont, a Holden Commodore, a Triumph Stag in and all being worked on by Illias - by himself. It's staggering what this man has achieved, especially over the pandemic.
Classic, Vintage, Veteran and RADwood cars from the vantage point of the mechanics, technicians, panel beaters and painters that work to keep our motoring heritage on the road.
Twice weekly visits to classic auto garages and workshops featuring cars from 1886 to 1999 & including car restoration, rebuilds, repairs and restomods to anything from Aussie V8s, American muscle cars, Euro exotics, JDM, your coveted everyday runabout and more. If it's built before the turn of the century, there's every chance I'll film it.
My name is Dave and I love old cars and visiting garages to chat to the people working on them. Added to that, I devour car content on youtube so I thought I'd join in and make some myself.

That crash test footage is from 1992. The Commodore had 300kg of ballast in the boot and wash crashed into the concreate block at 100km/h It was a commisioning test for the lab.

The VB-VC-VK-VH Commodores were horrific flexible pieces of crap. I worked extensively on them in the day and I could never understand the attraction. Horrible antiquated engines and gearboxes. The back of the front bucket seats, particularly the drivers seat would eventually drop through the floor. They had no additional plating there, and would develop stress cracks where the bucket seats were bolted to the floor. If a towbar was fitted to them without additional bracing back from the spring/shock towers to the rear of boot floor they would get nasty creases in the quarter panels as the additional weight of towing would try and pull the rear end down through the boot floor and quarter panels. The leaking fish bowl headlights was also a common problem Holden never fixed in any of those model years and made a fortune from spare headlights and lenses.

@@davesclassicgaragetours Be lucky if I saw one a week and I'm on the road extensively. How many are left on the road in Germany or England from whence the design came from? They were not anywhere as good as what preceded them here and unfit for any decent towing ability.

@@erroneouscode None over there which is why i was so astounded by their popularity when I arrived on these shores. I reckon I could pop down to Preston Market car park here in Melbourne this morning and pick off 2 or 3 right away
