I don't what your background is (like whether you have been to film school or have professional voiceover experience), but you are excellent at narrating. You have a real gift for writing and communicating your thoughts in a way that is engaging and relaxing. You don't rely on shock value or dramatic expressions to maintain attention. You have an effortless manner of drawing the listener into the subject matter. I hope your channel keeps growing!

Thank you, that is a really kind thing to say. I have training and qualifications in psychology and I also used to rewrite bad scripts and ghostwrite novels so I guess that's where the writing comes in. I've no professional voice acting or acting background I just learned as I've gone along. What a nice comment!

You know? My teacher used to tell me having online relationships was something dumb, cause a relationship is not only about “Love” it also needs 2 people who like their company, that are okay with their mistakes and past, their smell and essence. That’s why his relationship couldn’t really work. And I could imagine how bad and sad could be having all this talent to write and all this love to give but in the end of the day, being alone. Good video, I really like it!

How have you not got way more views? This is great insightful analysis of a difficult to understand emotion and you used this movie as a great explainer along with your commentary, deconstructing it. Very well done sir! I often feel like KZbin algorithms just leave content like this behind in favour of pushing louder, shock value type of videos to the front page, but I have found some channels that are absolute gems, yours is one of them.

I haven't seen this movie bit it looks intriguing. I've always thought that connection relies on both physical and emotional proximity and that the two deepen each other. With physical closeness you can touch someone, observe their body language, hear the emotions in their voice, smell them....and all of these things aid in communication which is necessary for emotional closeness. Conversely the more emotionally close you are to someone the easier and more enjoyable it is to get physically close. I think that's why I find it enter that his loneliness was helped by getting close to an AI. There's inherently a physical closeness that they can never achieve and by extension an emotional closeness. Especially since an AI can't fully grasp human emotion. Good video. Made me think. I'll look for the movie

Don’t know if you’ve looked into kodokushi (if you haven’t, I recommend you do), but this film made me think of this problem in Japan. We even see hints in our current society. People have their faces buried in their phones most of the time, instead of looking ahead and interacting with the world around them. Choosing to communicate via apps, rather than talking to the person next to them. It’s a very “let’s look at ourselves and our society” type of film. Much like what the show Black Mirror explores. Great analysis - sound mixing hiccup aside 😉- 👌

Thanks very much, such a nice compliment. I'm gonna look into kodukushi because it sounds exactly like the kind of thing I find interesting.

That Movie Show - It’s jarring and it makes you think inside yourself. I haven’t found a documentary that covers how it all started and the now, which I’d be interested in knowing.

That Movie Show - That would be awesome! I am just so intrigued at how a society stirs in that direction. I was reading that it affects mostly men over 50. I was also reading how they retire young, unmarried and just succumb to a life of isolation and loneliness. “The first instance that became national news in Japan was in 2000 when the corpse of a 69-year-old man was discovered three years after his death; his monthly rent and utilities had been withdrawn automatically from his bank account and only after his savings were depleted was his skeleton discovered at his home. The body had been consumed by maggots and beetles.” Wikipedia. Could this happen to other societies? How can this be changed and prevented? I think there’s just so much introspective material within this topic. I’d be very much interested in seeing a good piece on this.

You need to bring your voice volume up or something. I have a hard time hearing you over the music with my speakers. It might be my end but this was something I cant help but notice. edit: The music also swells when you pause from talking. I gets really loud out of nowhere for like a second.
@PeakedInterest6 жыл бұрын
Hmm I didn't have the issue with voice volume myself. The music swell is down to the program I use which automatically ducks the music whenever there is speech. I'll keep those things in mind for future videos, thanks for the feedback
