Today we live in the era of the internet. The Internet has changed the way we live and interact with each other. It has brought education, entertainment, comfort and even democracy. Imagining a world without the internet is hard. We are able to make this video and get it our favorite subscribers, only because of the internet. But did you know that almost 50% of the world still does not have access to the internet? That seems strange right? But it’s the truth. To counter this and make the internet accessible to everyone on earth, Elon Musk’s SpaceX is launching Starlink Satellites which plan to provide global internet coverage. But How does the internet work from space? How can starlink satellites provide internet service from space? Will they transform our world? Let’s talk about all that and more.
Starlink is a global initiative by SpaceX to create a global broadband network by using a constellation of Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites to provide high-speed internet services

Initially Starlink was bright and visible to the naked eye at night. Now they have addressed that so we don't see them anymore on earth. However, the debris generated at the end of life is still a small part open to be fully mitigated. The use cases going forward will expand, that's quite interesting. For now, the other 40ish percent of the world that cannot get internet, will. This is life changing.

I still don't understand how this is better than using only a few satellites that are placed further out in space. The video seemed to indicate that it is due to the time factor, since being closer to earth shortens the time of communication significantly. However, is it really possible to achieve geosynchronous orbits at such low altitudes? I'm afraid we are all going to regret having so much space junk floating in the skies, rendering many astronomical observations impossible, and making space launches more complex.

6:00 the graphic says that Starlink orbits 100 times higher than a geostationary satellite, but the opposite is true. Starlink flies much, much lower than geostationary satellites.
@chaspfrank

I caught that right away also. That's a HUGE error that no one who understands the very basics of LEO vs Geostationary orbits could ever make. So what other errors are embedded in this video? It's credibility just went out the window for me. (actually, it started the 2:52 mark when they showed a Space Shuttle launch while speaking of SpaceX performing "partner launches". ) If you want to be credible, check your content!!!

Starlink has generated significant interest and excitement in the tech and internet connectivity communities. Its promise of providing high-speed internet access to remote and underserved areas is seen as a potential game-changer, especially for regions with limited access to traditional broadband options. Is it TRUE?

Yes it is true. We live in the remote countryside here in the Philippines where fiber and cable internet is almost impossible. Starlink changed everything. We are now getting average speeds of 150mbps DL and 30mbps UL and it's consistently strong even when during rainy days. Starlink made me easily decide to leave the city and start a new life in the countryside where I am currently working from home.

Hi; nice educational video, I think, Starlink and other LEO satellites are excellent services but expensive service for most people on earth. If they'd make it affordable/cheaper in near future & provide landline/mobile telephone calling services cheaply with the Starlink internet service, it may be the future & best of communications on earth, mars and beyond. 👌👍🙂
