Doom 2016 has such satisfying gunplay, quick switching between SSG, Gauss and RL and wrecking everyone in a fraction of a second is just soooooooo good. Before SSG/Gauss, panic ensues when encountering hell knights, summoners or soldiers with their charged plasma shots. After acquiring the Gauss cannon it's your turn to bully them back and it only keeps getting worse for the demons from there. Doom 2016 is way more cathartic and fun due to its absolutely brutal, demoralizing early game and it has better gunplay, but Eternal is the overall better designed game IMHO. I will keep playing both of these games for the rest of my life.

i got a tip for you move more and use the ice bomb more and combo it with a frag grenade make sure to check your ammo and upgrade your weapons and mostly upgrade the combat shotguns sticky bombs that can take out weak points and deal alot of damage

I'm not sure i agree just because it's so different. Like I don't feel any better at cod than I was before. However any game with jumping and dashing and any game with dashing in general, definitely got easier for me after DOOM Eternal Like when Returnal came out I was immediately a beast at it because I assigned the same controls for jump and dash and just felt at home with it right away. Same with Necromunda hired gun, ratchet and clank rift apart, Atomic Heart, some other games I'm forgetting But I also starting assigning dash to L3 in a lot of other games that aren't even fps and because of Eternal i became much better at dashing

Its a joyous thing to find something that brings you so much entertainment and fun, truly. I really appreciate when I find a game like that. I've been feeling it with Space Marine 2 lately. Its got very similar battle flow and vibes to Eternal. I think both games are in my top 10 games of all time, just pure fun and constant heart pumping action. Eternal has a special place in my heart, I had a lot of fun and it was one of those games where I wanted to get better and do the hardest difficulty just as an excuse to play it more. I love how much thought went into weapon synergy, how they interact with specfiic enemies, and all the fun crazy powers like the meathook+shotgun. What a fun idea. My only gripe with the game was there wasn't enough meathook points to swing around in, but I think the Master levels and player made maps fixed that!

I've never played battlemode, but I have incredible hours on this game as well. I can't be sure how many, but 2000 is my estimate. I've never played a minute of battlemode, I'm just a guy who enjoys repetitive games. This game taught me how to manage my anxiety better to succeed in the most unlikely scenarios, and it's helped me enormously in my job and personal life. It's one of the best games I've ever played for sure.

Another Battlemode juicer! I got onto both Eternal and Battlemode pretty late, but I loved every moment. Winning a match in BM for the first time felt as good or better than my first UN completion. I'll always remember getting my top 100 Slayer badge, endlessly checking the leaderboards to see where the cutoff was. And winning a 20 minute (private) match against 2 top 10 demons, which I still have on my channel. At some point I just had to move on to other stuff though. Pub population was dropping and I didn't feel the same drive to grind for rank. Glad to see it's still being played and actively balanced by the community though. I don't think I'll ever completely forget my muscle memory for quick swaps, ballista boosts, punch swaps, and meathook flings.

I've been playing Doom Eternal since end of January 2021 where I first played it on my brother's Xbox One and had a blast but it didn't TRULY become my favourite game just yet. The more I played it, the more I loved it and in late 2021, everything finally clicked and Doom Eternal officially became my favourite video game of all time. I've got 313 hours on the PS4 version ALONE and 114 hours on Steam. It truly is a masterpiece.

What do you think about the Doom Hunter in battlemode he's kinda a big character and hitbox you have to be long range. Battlemode on Console version im average and terrible when playing as slayer i only got emeasly 1 win with him but as the demons im kinda good with Maruader, Revenant, Dread Knight, Mancubus sort of. Playing as Slayer on PC is op while demons on consoles what they primarily play is op.

My first time playing doom eternal I struggled quite a bit but mostly because of the limited ammo deal(coming from someone who really enjoys the classics and just running through the level to refill ammo) and the chainsaw wasn't doing it for me and basically I just didn't like using it like at all and thought the frags you get were also limited use, tried again a few weeks back and found out you can use the frag infinitely but has a cooldown and I felt like an idiot. Overall I just couldn't get into doom eternal because fights are way too long and tedious for my liking but I gotta give props to the soundtrack, it's pretty good. I guess if I wanna slash up some demons I'll just stick to demon's and dark souls I guess or just play the classics, doom 1993 and doom II

I just started and have 19 hours clocked in, I have no idea why I waited four years to play this. I did beat it on Hurt me Plenty, I genuinely want to work my way up to Ultra Nightmare and get better. I have only been killed by a Marauder one time and it was during the Gore Nest master level, I don't find them unfair at all.

@@silkDP I used my dual sense controller on my laptop which has a 4060 inside. I know it isn't ideal to use an external 21:9 monitor, but I can maintain 100fps with DLSS and RT on. I want to learn keyboard and mouse, it has been many years since I have played with those controls. I only have that SSG and Ballista combo down, haven't found anything better.

@@millabasset1710 yeh, I'd recommend changing keybinds to something more comfortable than default. Also, always switch between precision bolt and super shotgun then back to precision bolt. It is faster to go back to the precision bolt.
