He's still amazing at what he does but his drawings are not as pleasing to the eye in modern day. His characters lack expressive features. You see a lot of very basic shapes, like with his eyes and noses and the way he draws muscle groupings makes characters bodies look segmented and rigid. From a casual viewers perspective these just seem like major nitpicks but when you've seen how good his drawings can be compared to what they are now it is a bit disappointing.

Glad you enjoyed it! And yeah, I probably should’ve gone into what an Animation Director is and there job. Essentially these corrections were made to bring the designs closer to the character sheets and create stylistic consistency as that can naturally vary when you have a bunch of different artists working on the one thing. And also just to improve the general quality of the art. Proportions, Posing, Perspective etc.
