Drake had to go the influencer route. He's NOT a rapper. He's an actor who hires rappers to write his lines for him. He sings catchy pop songs. Going up against Kendrick was a mistake that he would have never made if he listened to Kendrick in the first place: "Be humble. Sit down."

Listen: drake can rap, he has his own flow but thats where his skills stop within hip hop. He cannot write, he cannot freestyle/battle rap, he's not a storyteller and he's not particularly creative, he feeds off of whatever is on the come up. But because most of his fans are suburban white boys or suburban white boy adjacent, they don't know whats poppin either. So for them Drake is genuinely doing something new, while the rest of us will have already heard whatever 'new' sound drake does, atleast months before drake does it. Cc: the entire funky house genre and one dance *Edit: which is why for some drake fans the first time they heard kendrick was genuinely on drakes tour and they are now trying to rewrite history as if drake put him on. IF YOU WERE INTO HIP HOP WE ALL KNEW KENDRICK and we were WAITING for him, no one was waiting for drake to drop like that. Most of us were listening to wayne at the time too, which is literally the only reason we even gave drake the time of day. The first time i heard a drake song it was to listen to a 30 sec adlib from wayne that happened right at the end of the song. Also Jamaicans: STAN UP! This guy cannot keep coming back to us when he needs some authenticity.

I stopped listening to hip hop since watch the throne. Got into edm. Since this beef, I have been curious of this Kendrick fella. Love euphoria and not like us.
