To me winters has always felt like the chapter that had the greatest influence on Undertale. Aside from the obvious snowy location being the same, the atmosphere of being just a kid alone in the world feels very similar, the music also reflects a similar melancholy tone. There are also many elements borrowed from it such as; being able to take all the cookies and being shamed for it (similar to the take one candy jar in Undertale), bubble monkey getting distracted then running to catch up (similar to monster kid), and Tony kneeling to help get over the fence (monster kid does the same for a cliff).

Something to note I think (at around 30:33, when you mentioned the characters home lives) is that the game says that Ness' strong psychic ability is directly related to his mother's love and encouragement. It makes sense then, that the kid with two loving parents is one of the strongest in psychic ability (Paula), while the kid who basically lives without either of his parents, has no psychic ability whatsoever (Jeff).

I LOVE this series! I played EB way back in the day on a SNES cart which I later foolishly traded in for a PS1, Final Fantasy 9 (great game though) and NO MEMEORY CARD lol. Watching this is helping me feel like I'm playing it again, and I appreciate all the insights you add that I didn't notice because I played this game mostly without a guide, only occasionally looking at GameFAQs when I got lost, and I don't know all the trivia for it yet.

Regarding the tent and lack of direction there - I think that the newspaper from the hotel mentions it. I recall not knowing what to do next and this helping me out. And I don't think this should be corrected. As you say, you feel truly "stuck" in Threed, and this feeling of not knowing what to do next really adds to it. It happens multiple times in this area.

Other thing that charmed me back in the year of its release, was the depth of stuff hidden. The house you can buy ton the west coast of the world map (the california house of ROSEMARY'S BABY, in the house yo uget the lette rin the cupboard / furniture telling you the story of Mother (Earthbound Beginnings). Also love : The truffles you could hunt or not in the deep darkness. The T-Rex bat you could buy in Winter before joining Ness and that Bat would be the best until AFTER the Magicant saga, meaning a 3rdf of the game you have an overpowered bat. It is WORTH it getting money with Jeff using the camping site.

Now I'm only 6 minutes and 30 something seconds in, but the story you give the zombie lady is really interesting when taking into account a woman you see later in the story, with memory impairment. I don't think this is an unusual interpretation, but I think the zombie lady and the similar looking woman in Summers were the same character, with the implication that she was under some hypnotic state. Also, I'm having a massive Mandela effect right now - I was absolutely certain they gave the zombie woman a black bikini in the localization.

What i love is the Apple Kid & ORange Kid storyline hidden in plain sight : Bill Gates & Steve Wozniak. Apple Kid vs ORange Kid = the compouter wars. Orange is always bropken, people didn'T like Windows but Apple was seen as cool. Orange Kid is Bill Gates of Microsoft. STEVE WOZNIAK is the Apple Kid.
