I'm wondering, does the interior of those convertible are rated for -25c/-13f? If not, what kind of damage are taking? Frozen seat belt buckle? Unusable center display?

​@@itsyo42there whole car is design to - 25. That is industry standard. What kills it is not the temperature, but the condensation. We have train that not allowed to disconnect from shore power when store outside because the condensation will kill the electrical component

Don't worry, you won't even notice rain in a convertible with the top down (and a proper windscreen behind you) when you're driving with motorway speeds. Until you have to slow down till below something like 80 km/h...

Owning an mx5 as a fun car (the daily is a m3p) MY Top down mode ON: no highway, no rain, temperatures between 8°C and 25°C. In all the other conditions I don't really enjoy driving roofless (too noisy, too hot/cold) But hey watching a brave guy exposing his health for science purposes...is priceless 💪🏻 😅 PS: you have been my first ev youtuber (and mentor) when I had my 1st Tesla about 7 years ago

No need to touch a screen just tell it what to do! :P And do not worry about the consumption...my MG4 running today in ECO mode never higher then 90km/h in +4 degrees still ramps up 21-23 pr km...Even in the hottest summer i cannot get this car to go below 16ish. Dunno if the car is bugged or the insystem measuring is but my range just plops down from 430 to 330 as soon as temps go down to +5 celcius. in -20 my car does like 250km max. I do go maximum heat in seat, steering wheel and in the cabin though cuz i don't wanna be cold. It is fine as i knew this up front having owned 3 EV's but some ppl get shocked in the low temps how much range it looses. LOL i had to edit cuz my MG4 also tops out at 29.8.

I have driven my previous MX-5 in freezing temperatures with the top down. With the cabin heater and seat heater on, a good jacket and beanie hat it is no problem... But I would not do it without the cabin heater, so to do it in an EV would be rather inefficient.
