I have a slightly different theory on Jack. Back then disease was very common, and so was the burying of people who were mistakenly pronounced dead. I think Jack was extremely sick and on the verge of death but was still alive when his family (or whoever) believe he was dead and decided that instead of burying him, they burned him. So yes he was technically still burned alive. My reason behind so is that he has on a suit, when you're dealing with a dead person, you make them look nice in a nice suit or dress before burying/burning them. {And I couldn't remember want it's called when you burn a dead body} So yes, I believe Jack was sick and on the verge of death when he was mistakenly pronounced dead, dressed in a suit, and burned while still being barely alive. Although I wouldn't know what illness because there were many plagues, outbreaks, and just ones that they had no cure for back then. Ex) The flu. Back then people got it and died or lived. It just mattered on the condition of the person, a young healthy person might live whilst a older ill person would have died. (But there are many exceptions.) But today we have vaccinations and medications, Thank the heavens for medical advancements.

Chance Stephens I totally agree that Sally was never alive but made from a mix of corpses, But I feel I should point out that Frankenstein is the Doctor not the monster, that's why the movies usually say Frankensteins Monster and Dr Frankenstein. From the original book by Mary Shelley the monster says "I ought to be thy Adam" as in Adam and Eve from the bible (They also touch on this bit of the book in the 2014 movie I, Frankenstein by calling the monster Adam). But the monster never actually got given a name, there's a bunch of theories on why that is but most seem to think it's because Dr Frankenstein rejects his creation, thereby not bothering to name it. He fought a war, and his head was shot clean off. When he woke up, he searched miles around for his head (without being able to see) and it was then that he realized he was dead. He became the pumpkin king as his head was found in a pumpkin near a farm. He terrified the farmer and his horse. (Who of which became statues of the victims of jack skellington the pumpkin king)

Shock died of suffocation/lack of air. Think about it. When you start losing air your face goes purple. If you die of lack of oxygen, your face will go mostly white with some purple/blue tinge. As for the frazzled, messy hair, Shock may have been suffocated under a pillow or a blanket.
